Ask Fall Out Boy

Me: Alrighty here is the next question from-

Joe: Youngbloods5century ?

Me: Not this time... Today it's @falloutboy and they asked "What are your thoughts on Brendon Urie?"

Andy: Ooh that's a good one...

Pete: That's obviously an easy opinion for me to give because - for those of you who don't know - I helped sign his band, Panic! at the Disco, into their record label. I really admired the way he sang and the way his band played and just that - like - he was a generally happy and easy going person.

Pete: I didn't think I was going to be friends with a guy like him. I don't know why, I just didn't think I could ever get to know a guy like him but he's actually a really nice guy. Some people think he's a jerk, because he puts himself out there as a brat and openly cusses, but he's really not. He's really humble about his voice, he's very funny, and he knows when to be serious.

Patrick: A lot of people misunderstand Brendon. When he does interviews, he gets nervous and the answers come out the wrong way. That's why, I think, people think he's a jerk and it is not like that at all. Like Pete said, he's a very happy and funny guy.

Joe: Especially when he's drunk.

Pete: *laughs* Yeah, especially when he's drunk.

Me: Why don't you explain Brendon's incident to the fans?

Pete: Oh god. Okay. So one night, we were chilling, having some drinks and enjoying our time, and Brendon gets really drunk.

Patrick: -and he means really drunk.

Pete: This guy was drunker than a skunk and it was hilarious. Before we got the idea to bring out a camera and start filming, he was rambling on about the stupidest things. But the things he said about them were really smart. So we were stuck between this - should we record him or should we leave him alone?

Patrick: I mean, we would've recorded him no matter what. I think the biggest question, after we filmed it, was do we want the world to see it? Because, there's so many people who are quick to judge. It could break Brendon's reputation over the Internet, but - again - he's such an easy going guy, so would he even care?

Pete: Basically, we asked him about Fall Out Boy. He knows everything, the embarrassing stories, the background, how many singles and hits we've gotten, but being drunk completely screwed it up. Most of the things he rambled about were wrong or out of order or worded the wrong way.

Patrick: Yeah, eventually, he didn't know what to do with himself, spilling it over his shirt. *laughs* I felt really bad about it.

Andy: But it's not like he's always like that. He knows how to control it when he needs to.

Pete: Yeah definitely. We'll have drinks and fart around once in a while. He doesn't get drunk every time. He knows how to control himself and what to do/not to do when he's drunk. It was just this one time that one drink was too many and it was too much for him to handle.

Joe: You know it's too much for him when he starts talking about Eating Out Your Ex-Girlfriend.

Pete: *laughs hysterically* I tried to tell him! It's Fall Out Boy's: An Evening Out With Your Girlfriend!

Patrick: *also laughing his Ninja Turtle socks off* The saddest part was him realizing how drunk he was and what he was actually talking about. He said something like "Innity On High" and stopped like "Oh my gosh, I'm so drunk right now".

Pete: It's sad but it's very funny.

Me: What made you guys want to help with filming and acting things out.

Patrick: Actually, that wasn't our idea. It was our photographer Jack Edginer's idea. They produced the idea to us and it sounded fun to do. We had a ton of fun dressing up and... mouthing his terrible explanations.

Joe: "Patrick was wearing shorts and socks"

Patrick: *laughs* It was tough to recreate the old image of myself: the sideburns, the glasses, the clothes, but it was great in the end.

Pete: I loved that he talked about my eyeliner. That feels like such an old thing now. *chuckles* That-that's an old Pete thing.

Me: What's the new Pete thing to do?

Andy: Dying his hair in... multiple different colors.

Pete: Aaaaand now we're getting off topic *laughs*. That was probably the longest we've ever stayed on topic!

Me: Yeah! This is the longest topic we've had yet! Congrats guys!
