"Are you nervous?" Mikhael sat across from his son, observing his behavior carefully.
'Of course not, why would I be? It's not like I am about to meet a tyrannical emperor who has yet to grow a soft spot for his daughter in order for me to feel like he wouldn't kill me.'
"I am fine." With a tight smile, the younger looked away.
"Don't overthink yourself too much. He is your uncle after all so there is no need to worry about appearances that much." Sage nodded as he took a deep breath in.
Nervous was an understatement, his mind was about to explode from how much stress he was going through.
How is he supposed to act once he sees Claude, seeing him as his uncle was nearly next to impossible?
Sage continued to look outside as he noticed the palace coming into view.
'Woah... it looks so magical.' Mikhael chuckled as he watched the sparkle in his sons' eyes.
The younger hadn't realized how he inched closer to the edge of his seat until he had felt the support of his seat disappear and had caught himself from having his butt touch the floor of the carriage.
An embarrassed look settled on his face once he realized Mikhael was watching the whole time with amusement dancing in his eyes.
"Do not be amazed just yet son, the inside is just as beautiful." As the gates of the Palace grew closer, Mikhael and Sage prepared themselves to step out of the carriage.
They had agreed on showing up in a carriage that Sage's father used when going on undercover jobs as they both did not want to attract attention from the public.
So it wasn't a surprise when Sage watched the royal guards walk up to the carriage and ask for identification.
The coachmen held out an emblem with their family crest on it.
With a sharp bow, the guards immediately opened the gates to let the carriage through.
'Let's get this over with.'

CHAPTER 9, HIS AURA IS NO JOKE.
Soon enough both were inside the Palace with Mikhael leading the way. Sage continued to gaze throughout the halls, taking in every detail.
In a way, it was still pretty unbelievable that he was in this situation all because he wanted to play the hero.
'I hope you're living a good life kid.' An imaginary memory of his classmate with a black strip covering his eyes stood behind him with a wide smile, giving Sage a thumbs-up as the younger face morphed into an empty smile.
"Here we are, I believe we are a bit early seeing as there are no maids at all." The older commented before footsteps echoed behind them. There strolled Felix, smiling brightly at the duo.
"No, you are right on time. There was a sudden suggestion to have dinner out in the garden so the maids are all set up outside as we speak." With an equally bright greeting, the knight began to lead them out to the garden.
"And Claude agreed?" Mikhael questioned, striding beside the red-haired male.
"Well, The Princess was the one to come up with the idea to watch the sunset while feasting tonight." A soft smile appeared on Felix's face as he brought up Athanasia.
