Honestly, I can't really explain what brought me to where I am. At least, not well. You see, one moment, I'm opening a book in the library, the next, I realize it's blank and fall in. That's right. I fell into the book, full-on Magic Treehouse style.

After several minutes of falling, in utter terror at my incomprehensible surroundings, screaming for help and yet recieving none, I finally came to a harsh, cold, rather painful stop.

I had hit a stone brick path. Luckily, the fall was seemingly a lot slower than I had thought. Nothing was broken, but it still hurt like all hell. I got up, my eyes wide, my posture defensive. In the distance I saw a town. Small, seemingly almost... medieval. I began walking towards it, then jogging, then breaking into a full-on sprint, eager for answers as to what was happening.

After what felt like hours, and likely was, I finally arrived at the edge of town. There was a sign. "Welcome to Kaiton". A stranger approached me, and I approached him.

As we stood there, silent, I took another step forward. The stranger spread his arms, wings unfurling from behind him, around 3 feet in length on each side.

"Hello! You must be The One!!"

Immediately after, my vision went dark, and I felt my body drop to the ground.

Author's notes: Hey there!! Sorry for the short chapter, I wanted to keep the prologue short, sort of like a teaser. I also felt I didn't need an entire chapter of build-up before our protagonist dropped into this world. I wanted to just get to the point. Anyways, thanks for readin'! :)
