College has been filling up your entire schedule for a while now, with exams and projects taking up all of your time – including your free-time. Being raised to be an A-student does not always have its perks because it drains you, completely and utterly drains you for energy. But after seeing the results of your exams and the grades for your projects, you find it all worth it in the end. The pride on your father's face when you told him was also very much worth it. In fact, your father was so proud of your results that he offered to let you join him on his business trip to Dubai. Dubai sounded absolutely amazing when he asked as it was your last day of exams before the summer break. You had agreed to join in a heartbeat, excitement bubbling in you as you began daydreaming about cocktails at the pool, delicious food, and a nice tan that'll last the year out.

So here you are, one week later, on your way to the airport with your father. You're practically bouncing in your seat as if you're 8 years old again and he's taking you to a theme park. But just as he pulls into the parking lot of the airport, your excitement is immediately shattered as you spot two people you definitely did not expect to see since your father hasn't said a thing. Right there in the parking lot, waiting with their luggage, are Jaemin and Jungkook.

Your stomach feels funny as Jungkook raises a hand in the air to wave at his boss. You whip around to look at your father, an expression of betrayal on your face as he waves back. But how would your father even know how you feel about seeing Jungkook again? It's not like you've exactly shared what went down between the two of you almost two months ago. You haven't even talked to Jungkook about it.

In fact, you haven't seen him in almost two months and yet somehow he has never left your mind – always appearing in your thoughts in the middle of an exam, when hanging out with your friends, at night before going to sleep, even in your dreams. But despite that, you've also managed to forget him in a way; your feelings towards him have been fading over time as you were constantly reminded of the things he said to you. But now, as he's right there in person after two months, everything you've ever felt for him is coming back like a tidal wave.

"They're coming too?" You wonder out loud, causing your father to chuckle.

"Of course, pumpkin," he tells you, "we're having meetings with possible new partners and customers, I need Jungkook there to show them the very best sides of the company. Besides," he pauses, glancing at you after having parked the car, "he's the perfect candidate for the post when I retire someday. I thought I'd show him what it's all about."

You huff at his reply and stay seated in the car as your father gets out to greet Jungkook with a friendly hug. You watch them talk as if they're best pals and you can't help but grimace at the sight. It's definitely difficult to stay pissed at Jungkook when he's such a good person in your father's eyes. Besides, you know he is a wonderful person, that's what makes it so frustrating. If he actually was an asshole in general, maybe it'd be easier for you to stay angry at him but just the sight of his smile is enough to have you swoon again. If you had known he'd be joining this trip, you probably wouldn't have said yes. There's no way this will end well. If anything, you'll probably end up with a broken heart before the trip is over.

Letting out a heavy sigh, you collect your things and get out of the car. Jungkook glances over his shoulder at the sound, his face covered in confusion. It's almost considered a win somehow when you see the way his face falls once he spots you, his eyes locking with yours. Jungkook feels his gut tightening at the sight of you. He hasn't seen you since that day in the bathroom where he broke all the rules he had set for himself after the kiss at the staff party. You look the same, in fact, you look even prettier than before. What he didn't exactly expect is the frown that's painted on your face as you look at him. He should've known though. You haven't forgotten and why would you? Jungkook knows he fucked up.
