Peter's POV
It has been awhile since Spark or I have been able to live anywhere. Ever since our home town became over run with Taint, we've been moving. It's been a maybe a year or two since it happened. Few signs of humans with hospitable attitudes live in the badlands we've been traveling in. The last time we met kind humans was when we came upon a town of Wizards. They wanted to let us stay but said that Fate had other things in store for us.

At least they let us get a good night's sleep. It's been months since I've slept so well. They said be prepared to meet our destination soon. Who knows how soon that is though. Good thing we met them. I believe Spark was slowly losing hope. I'm glad it was him I escaped with him. After my parents were killed in the Great Botanic War, I met Spark through mutual work. We were both put to labor searching miles out for supplies. We often discussed different mobs we liked.

"Slimes are probably the coolest mobs," Spark would always say.

"No way! Zombies are crazy awesome!" I always told him.

He even saved my life. I had been mining some stone when my mineshaft gave to and a deposit of iron crushed me between stone. Zombies attacked from every side. Must have recognized my helplessness. Spark heard the loud rumble of stone falling. He came to check on me but found I was soon to be torn to pieces by zombies. If it wasn't for him killing them when he did I wouldn't be here today. Although my life was preserved, my body wasn't. My face and body was severely scarred and damaged. To this day I always wear a zombie mask to remind myself what I owe not only to myself but what I owe Spark...

I was awoke from my thought when Spark pointed out a light he noticed lifting into the sky.

"That's a beacon!!! There must be people!! Thriving people! Pete! Do you think this is what those Wizards meant?" Spark asked with excitement.

"Only one way to find out bud," I replied.
