After visiting my grandma, who only gave us little to no new information on the camera and my grandfather, i went back to plan A, looking for every single one of those Polaroids. And since i couldn't get Tyler's yet, and i already had Maggie's, Callie and Hallie were up next. Callie and Hallie were the blonde twins of Burkefield, always getting themselves into trouble together, and looking absolutely stunning while doing so. There's was always something about their fair skin and beautiful smiles that made them stand out in the school. It's not like they put up a mean girl persona or anything, they were nice to everyone, that was how they became popular so fast.
It use to be a trend when i was in high school, to dress like them, talk like them, and even walk like them. To just be remotely like them, was all anyone ever wanted. But when college happened, the hype around the twins sort of died out. And we were all back to square one of reinventing ourselves, in a whole new environment. Which seemed like that's what they were doing at the campus party, and of course i ruined it by snapping a photo and locking their souls in a dark decaying dimension. But hey, what's new?
Taryn and i had the plan, to head over to their house after my next class and bribe their kid brother in to sneaking around there room and find the Polaroids. I felt bad about it, but how else we were gonna make it in there? "you wanna do what?" they boy asked, as he stood in the doorway of the Foster's home, looking confused. His arms were folded, and his eyebrows were furrowed. "We just wanna look around your sisters' rooms for a little bit" i said, hoping that didn't sound creepy. "Yeah, i heard that...why?" he asked, so far this wasn't going well for us. "Callie borrowed one of Paige's lipsticks and we really need it back, it's very important to Paige" Taryn said, as he stood beside me. "Lipstick? really.. i just don't understand teenage girls. Whatever. But there's no way you're coming here with just ten bucks" he said, still not letting us pass.
"How much?" i asked, hoping this didn't put a dent in my debit card, "fifty or no chance" he said, as i sighed. "Deal" Taryn said, as i looked at him. I then pulled out a ten dollar bill, as Taryn did so as well, handing it to the blonde haired, blue eyed boy, who was lucky enough to be Callie and Hallie's brother. "Come on in" he said, as he widened the door for us, to finally walk in. "You have ten minutes" he said, as he pointed to the stairs. "Thank you!" i said, running up the stairs as Taryn saluted him and then ran up, afterwards behind me. Him and i headed for Callie's room first, as we snooped around, looking under books and tablets as well as magazines. I was going through several of her underwear drawers, while Taryn went through her actual dresser drawers. "Nothing yet" he said, "keep looking!" i said, as i started looking through her bed sheets.
"Got it!" he said, pulling it off of her desk, as he turned on her lamp, and held it in the light. I walked up behind him and peered over in his shoulder to see the reflection of the image, change. Taryn and i exchanged looks, before hearing a scream come from downstairs. As we didn't think twice, before running down the stairs, to find out where the sound came from, we found Callie and Hallie's brother sitting in the living room playing video games. "Done yet?" he asked, as we sighed of relief. "Almost" Taryn said, as he hid the Polaroid behind his back. I shook my head, before hearing a whisper like sound come from down the hall. I turned, looking down that hall, as i started following the whispers. It lead me to a room, a nook of some sort. A place filled with books and sitting areas. On one of the book shelves, there was a journal. As i took it off the shelf and flipped to the page filled with whispers. There was Hallie's Polaroid.
I put on my glove and touched the Polaroid, knowing that when my skin touched it, i was transported into some alternate dimension. Can't have that happening at the moment, so the glove is there for protection. I walked over to the lamp in the corner, and held the image closely, as i shook the Polaroid slightly, watching as the image of Hallie and Callie became horrifying quickly. From there smiles to screams, i could feel and hear the agony of their fear.
