Next up, was Tyler's wake party, which was incredibly disrespectful in my opinion. Why in the world, would someone throw a party during someone's wake? i get that sometimes though when people die, they don't want there family and friends to mourn and feel sad for their death. They want them to celebrate their life, and remember all the beautiful and perfect moments they shared together. And besides, if this is what Tyler would of wanted, then so be it. Who was i to judge how someone grieved or mourned someone's death?
Once we drove up to the overcrowded house that had blaring music pounding within it's walls, and drunk or high young adults doing stupid party activities, that Tyler use to love. Everyone was dressed in his football jersey, wearing his star number on the back of there shirts: 49. As much as i could tell Tyler was always the life of the party, the biggest party animal if you asked me and even the rest of the student body. Though he was a star athlete at football, he was also pretty amazing at science and math. Was top of his class in debate and even won class president in high school. Or so i heard. I never really knew the guy personally, he was attractive though, i'll give him that. Attractive and smart guys are usually pretty rare. But he was both. Course he had the build, the muscles, the smoldering smile, and gorgeous dark brown eyes.
Every girl wanted to be his girl friend, and every guy wanted to be his friend, or literally him. I guess that's why he had so many friends, and was beloved by everyone here. He truly was a good guy. And i hate that i took so much away from him, just by asking to take his picture. I wondered why none of there souls haunted me like Maggie's did. Aren't they upset with me? why weren't they punishing me for what i did to them? were they planning something? all of these thoughts, brought fear and worry to my stomach, as Taryn and i walked into the party.
"I wanna thank you all for coming, Tyler would be overjoyed to know that so many people loved and worshiped him. He was my best friend, a true star on the field, and the perfect son and friend anyone could ask for. Once, when being asked what he would like to be remembered for, he said for his courage, for his strive to succeed, and for his kind heart that he never let go unnoticed. He loved all you guys, and where ever he is now, i'm sure he's smiling down upon us or something with that perfect smile of his. So whether you knew him personally or not, thank you for being here. To Tyler!" a boy said, as he stood on top of the table, in the middle of the crowd and raised a beer glass in the air. Everyone around us did the same, as they took a sip and continued the party.
"Tyler's room should be upstairs" i said to Taryn as he nodded, pushing through the crowd and following after me. "Why did you bring the camera?" Taryn asked, as i felt him pull it out of my bag, as we walked up the stairs. "I didn't want it falling into the wrong hands" i said, as i took it out of his grasp. "uh.. and you thought bringing it to a party full of drunken idiots was the best place to take it?" he asked, as i realized i didn't think this through. " I just couldn't leave it at home, okay" i said, "Paige, you're not like..obsessed with it or something right?" he asked, as i frowned and shook my head. "Cause you know what it did to your grandfather right? there's no coming back from that" he said, as i nodded. "I know, can we just drop it and find his room" i said, trying to put the camera back in my bag until a pair of hands snatched it from me.
"Hey! sweet camera! mind if i check it out?" he said, as Taryn and i were horrified, "actually yes i do! please give it back!" i said, reaching for it but the boy was already half way down the stairs, snapping photos of anyone he saw. "STOP!" Taryn yelled, before glaring at me, knowing this was my fault as he ran after the guy. "Say cheese!" the guy yelled, as he snapped photos of two other girls, running down the stairs as Taryn chased after him. "Dude stop, it's not a toy!" Taryn yelled, as he watched the guy stop, "You want it? go get it" he said, dropping it down the banister. "NO!" i screamed, looking down below as someone else catches it and snaps more pictures.
