Y/N was known as a proper Victorian gentleman. And he certainly was, apart from the fact that he liked to indulge himself in certain desires from time to time. As did almost all the Victorian gentlemen in London.
That is how he found himself smoking in a small backstreet on the wrong side of town. His back leant on the cold stone wall of one of the buildings and he shivered. 'Perhaps a cold Autumn night was not a good time to go out smoking in the back alleys of London', he thought.
He turned his head up to look at the stars that were just about visible through the smog of the city. While he was immersed in his own thoughts, Y/N hadn't noticed a dark figure stumble from around a corner.
The figure was a man, walking hurriedly and slightly hunched over. From a distance his posture suggested that of an elderly man, but from up close, he appeared to be no older than Y/N. He seemed to be wearing clothes of a size bigger than his body. He was acting odd, wandering down the street as if he had no wits about him.
Y/N had noticed the figure by now and felt a twinge of concern for him.
It was because of this that he asked, "Are you quite alright, sir?"
The man snapped his head to him, as if he only just realizing that he was there. His body turned rigid, but Y/N couldn't see the rest of his face because of the darkness.
"I'm alright. Just going on a stroll", he said, surprisingly calmly, but there was some irritation in his tone.
Y/N somehow wasn't convinced. There was something strange about this man, something slightly off.
But instead of feeling repulsed, he felt intrigued.
He was about to offer the mystery man to join him with a cigarette, but the man let out an annoyed grunt and turned on his feet. His pace was quicker as he was leaving the street.
Before he turned the corner, he looked back at Y/N once, and then he was gone.
