Day 1825: Chapter 2

Day 1

My eyes are heavy but why? I slowly open my eyes. I'm in what appears to be a prison cell. But it looks like it's designed for a queen. Everything is sparkling like diamonds. Panic settles in me as my groggy brain tries to recount the details of why I'm here.

My brain adventally does and I assess my situation. I take a deep breath as Katie would tell me to do before I get an anxiety attack. I get off of the bed and head towards the gate. I grab the bars and look both right. A guard cold faced looks at me. Startled, I backed up and explored my "cell".

There's a desk in the back left corner and the other corner has the bed I woke up in. To the left of me there's a weird looking thing that I can assume is a toilet. I notice what I'm wearing,a dress as sparkly as everything else but is a bright blue and it has long puffy sleeves. The fabric is super soft.

My skin isn't covered in dirt and feels silky smooth. My cuts have healed. Where the hell am I? Did I die? Is this heaven?

"Hey where am I?" I turn and yell at the guards. One of them rolls their eyes which apparently is universal.

I conclude that I'm on an alien planet. It's the only thing that makes sense. What the aliens are going to do to me is the question.

After what felt like an eternity a female guard fetches me with what appears to be a doctor with the white coat and all. The two guards posted at my door enter my cell and handcuff me.

"The emperor has requested your presence," the female guard says.

"Oh great" I say. Do these aliens understand sarcasm? I mean rolling your eyes is universal apparently. 

"It's an honor," another guard says. They push me out the door. I drag my feet. I probably could walk normally but this dress is so long I'm afraid I'll slip. Plus, I want the guards to know of my defiance.

Adventally after turning the corner of so many glowing white walls I lose count. We arrive in a huge room with the ceiling completely made of glass. Sun streams into the room like rivers. I can tell the sun is setting or rising. In the center of the room is a huge throne. Atop the throne is a glowing figure but I'm too far away to see. Below me is a glowing path that I can swear is whispering. I look around at the sea guards. Is that really necessary?

I get closer and I can see the figure on the throne. He glows brighter than the others but despite that his grin makes him look even brighter. His legs are crossed and his elbow resting on the throne. He shifts and puts his chin on his hand.

"Kneel" The female guard says.

"Huh?" I respond. Then suddenly she pushes me to the ground effectively making me kneel. I try to stand back up but two guards place their hands on my shoulder and push me back down.

"Woah don't be too rough with my guest" says the emperor. The guard slightly bows and the emperor starts laughing.

"Where am I" I ask.

"Don't get too hasty now i did save your life"

"How? you kidnap..." my words get interrupted with a fit of coughing. out of all times it had to be now?

"Whats wrong with her"

"She has a sickness. I have the remedy right..." The doctor said with a light tone in her voice.

"Well give it to her" The emperor says with a raised tone. My vision starts to blur but before I can go unconscious from the lack of oxygen a neon liquid gets shoved into my throat. It has a minty taste and I swallow it.

Immediately, my coughing stops and I slump from exhaustion and wipe the extra liquid off my face. The emperor sighs. I look back at him and he pinches his nose and looks at me and smiles.

"We will continue this conversation later. How about at dinner?" He asks.

"Su..sure" I croak, my voice still weak from coughing.

"Great, bring her to the guest room"

"But sir" the female guard says weakly. The emperor stares her down.

"Yes your highness" she knees and puts her hand over her heart. The guards force me to rise and we walk to my new room.
