You know

Thinking back on it, life seemed so normal that day, even now you couldn't remember anything that could have tipped you off to what was going to happen. Nothing that could have let you guys prepare.

Yet despite that, it didn't stop you from combing and re-combing over everything. You laid motionless, eyes closed, reliving everything for the thousandth time that day. Or what you could only assume was the day. You didn't know time anymore. But that's neither here nor there at this point, because once again you were diving back into it.

It was the middle of the week; you had spent the morning helping some of the leaders train new recruits in the dauntless faction. You were working yourself up the ranks to being a leader yourself, so that came with assisting the current leaders, helping keep the newbies in line, sparing, harsh discipline for those who didn't listen or couldn't keep up.

You and one of the leaders, Eric who you didn't know well were heading off to the cafeteria to get some food before getting back to the intense training. You both had interacted maybe a handful of times, to be honest you don't think Eric really interacted with anyone unless he had to.

Out of all the leaders he was the most intense, even the older leaders could get intimidated by him, all work and never play. But all that aside you were comfortable enough to eat with him since you were his assistant for the day, not that he needed one. You both had sat at a table with a tray, picking from all the different meals on the table.

You picked a little bit of everything, making sure to get meat, carbs, vegies, ect. You couldn't help but notice Eric's plate was rather plain it had the basics but like all the healthiest of the basics, guess that shouldn't surprise you, he really didn't indulge in anything. But whatever suits him, you weren't gonna judge, especially when he was where you wanted to be in the faction.

You ate silently, the cafeteria as noisy as ever. As another spoonful of food was about to enter your mouth you happened to glance at Eric. The spoon hovering Infront of you as you stared at him. His eyes were more intense than usual, and he was practically burning a hole in the table with his stare. Letting your eyes fall to where he was looking you furrowed your brows. It was a shadow, but that's wrong. Above you guys there was no ceiling, just open to the sky, you started lowering your spoon as you started to tilt your head up.

One moment, that's all it was, one moment that turned a perfectly unsuspecting day into one of the worse days on your life. In those moments you had taken to look up weird cans fell down all out the cafeteria. Some exploding as soon as they hit the ground, some releasing gas. Screams erupted, everywhere. Gun shots were going off too. You couldn't understand, in a matter of seconds things went completely mad.

In the chaos Eric had grabbed your arm, yelling something about getting to max. He had dragged you out and into one of the many hallways barking orders to panicked people passing. You guys were almost to one of the staircases that lead to max's office when two tall men had walked out.

They had black masks on, so their face was covered, Eric reacted immediately, using his fighting skills to fight these guys. He yelled at you, and you started fighting too. Eric was much more skilled than you, but it was already obvious these guys were masters at fighting. Eric and you were both overpowered.

Within a few moments you were pinned by one, the other was working on restraining Eric. They looked at each other as the one handling eric said "they'll do". The one holding you turned his head back to you, pulling you forward then slamming you back.

Everything went black.

What.

Only minutes ago, you were at the table eating with Eric.

Now you were knocked out.

--------

"Are you sure they're leaders?"

"I'm sure, I've been watching for a while, the tall one definitely is."

"They better be. You know this is the one chance to learn what we need to"

This is what woke you up, two unknown voices. Oh fuck. Ow. Fuck fuck fuck. Your head felt like it had been hammered on immediately, the pain almost making you pass back out, no, no no you needed to see where those voices are coming from first. You took a moment, preparing yourself. Oh your eyes hurt, forcing them to open was hell, but slowly you did it.

Once your eyes were open, they took their time adjusting till you could finally see, you were laying down on your side, your hands were tied, and mouth gagged. You focused your eyes on the thing Infront of you only to see its Eric.  His own eyes were closed, and he was on his back, hands and mouth also covered, except the thing is he was covered in blood. You swallowed a gasp as you looked at him, it was just so startling. Okay okay, focus on keeping your breathing steady, in and out, in and out.

You gave yourself about ten seconds of that before slowly forcing yourself to raise your head a bit, making it pound even more than it already did. You forced yourself to look over Eric and when you did you saw two familiar forms. The ones from the hallway, the ones responsible for Eric's and your current state. They were sat back, guns in hand, and faces still covered. Mumbling to each other, lord knows about what.

Shit you really wished you weren't the only one awake, you looked back down at Eric, maybe if you were careful enough you could wake him up. You slowly scooted yourself closer, moving your tied hands up to his arm, gently shaking it. Nothing. You shook it again a bit more forceful this time. You saw his brows furrow as he groaned. Fuck. You froze as your eyes darted back to the figures, they had stopped talking and were turning their heads, seeing you.

Your heart was in your throat now. They looked at each other then at you again. "Uh uh, it's not time for you to be awake yet" you watched as one sat forward towards you, and in one second, nocking you back out with the butt of his gun.

Once again surrounded in darkness.
