~-Abilities-~
Ardell specializes in "Utility Magic" as fairies are protectors and helpers.  Sometimes they were kept secretly by peasants by building a small nook or birdhouse for them in gardens, and in return for shelter, the fairy helped their crops grow and their homes keep warm. Ardell specifically learned healing and purifying magic because there weren't that many when wizards were common to begin with.

~-Phobia-~
Anthropophobia - Fear of people or society (Huge crowds mostly)
Autophobia - Fear of being alone
Claustrophobia - Fear of confined spaces
Ombrophobia - Fear of rain (This is the biggest one. Fairy wings will become limp when wet and will basically be large paperweights. Fairies are naturally afraid of rain and Ardell gained this trait)

~-Backstory-~
Ardell's father, Edric, was Gwenivre's older brother. He fell in love with Shaphrya, a forest fairy occupying the forest even Arthur himself barely touched, and ran away to live with her in her village. Years later, after the death of Gwenivre, Edric appeared at the door to Merlin's chambers, badly wounded and out of breath. He held a little blanket in his arms, clean and pure. He explained that this little bundle was his son, that hunters had killed off his wife and the village, and he couldn't think of anyone else to give Ardell to. He gently passed the peacefully sleeping baby to Merlin and subsumed to his wounds soon after. Ardell has been in Merlin's care ever since, protected from Arthur's increasing paranoia and hatred of all things nonhuman and learning magic alongside Hisourdoux. He's close with Morgana, but refuses to acknowledge Arthur as his uncle, especially after he threatened Ardell that if he ever flew, he'd use Excalibur itself to cut his wings off. He does love Merlin like a grandfather, but is a complete teenager about it and will call him things like "Old Fart" just to be annoying.

~-Weaknesses + Flaws-~
Ardell is prone to anxiety and stress easily, and often will contradict himself and his choices
He's a follower, not a leader, he often follows someone else's lead.
He's very protective of his friends and will do anything to keep them alive.
He is quick to do what he thinks is for the greater good and often doesn't think through the worse sides of this
His wings are extremely sensitive (not fragile) and are a huge weak point. If his wings get hurt, or even hit hard enough, he'll crumble to the floor in pain.

~-Personality-~
Ardell is mostly a quiet guy around most people, keeps to himself and as long as you don't bother him, he won't bother you. When forced to attend social events, he's often seen sitting in a window nook, in rafters, on top of a wall, in a tree, basically anywhere he doesn't have to interact with strangers.
With people he's comfortable with, however, he's a typical teen, annoying Merlin with little magic tricks and getting into trouble with Douxie, though admittedly he gets in the least trouble because he contributes the least on purpose. He's a little more confident in himself and his abilities, even his appearance when around his trusted friends and family.

~-Other-~
- He kinda hates his skin and hair color when he isn't in disguise, but his friends slowly change that view
  - He doesn't like it when people mistake him for a short haired girl, but he lets it slide for those who are quick to apologize or don't know better
  - His fairy genes make him age just as slow as Douxie and Merlin.
  - Does he wear eyeliner and some eyeshadow? Yes. Does it make him feel nicer looking? Yes. Is he gay? Yes. Got a problem? Nope.
  - Couldn't fly until he was thirteen and his wings were big enough. Douxie and Merlin both didn't know until the altered timeline that Arthur had threatened to cut them off if he ever tried, and that's why he seemed like a late bloomer and grew discouraged.
  - Ardell has a habit of putting a wing tip under someone's chin and turning their face with it to look at him when he gets tired of having no eye contact. To Douxie's confusion (at first), Ardell always backed off immediately after he did this to him and wouldn't look at him for a while after.
  - He gay wheezes a lot
  - Dell doesn't want biological kids, as he doesn't want to pass on his struggles of hiding behind a disguise most of his life. That doesn't mean he's totally against being a dad, though.
  - Fairies are nocturnal and humans are active during the day, so unfortunately, Ardell has trouble sleeping. He has a problem of falling asleep randomly in the day and then just desperately trying to find something quiet to do at night when he can't sleep.
  - Ardell's wings aren't fragile, they're actually extremely durable. Unfortunately, they have twice as many nerves as the rest of his body, so they're extremely sensitive.
