He's hugely insecure about himself and truly believes he's not a real being. One wrong word and he's in a weird funk for a while afterwards.

He has an extremely hard time communicating and showing emotion. Without a developmental period, he heavily lacks many mental abilities children learn in that stage of life.

Haoran holds absolutely no value in his own life, but if someone he's close to is in danger, he will throw all reasoning out the window and hold their life at a much higher value and will do anything to make sure they're safe.
