...

"Wha-what?"

"You heard me scavenger, where did you learn to speak dragon?" Scarlet said as her tail wrapped around me squeezed harder making it difficult to breathe and give an answer.

"I don't know, can other humans not understand and speak with dragons?"

"Humans is that what you call yourselves? I always thought your species were dumb like the Rainwings."

"Well, that's kinda rude and offensive that you think we're dumb. Humans are much smarter you know."

I was surprised I was able to talk to Scarlet with such confidence but I still had to watch what I say or it will be the end of me.

"What makes you think scavengers are just as smart as dragons?"

"Well I mean you are having an intelligent conversation with a scavenger so..."

"That still doesn't make a difference, a scavenger was dumb enough to steal the Eye of Onyx from a Sandwing Queen and now this war has been raging on. I sure you don't even know what the Eye of Onyx is."

"Actually I do know what the Eye of Onyx is..." I stuttered for a moment. I know what happens in the books, I can change the future because I know what will happen, next to Queen Scarlet will be assaulted by Glory allowing the dragonets to escape. I am not sure if I should explain but if it increases my chances of survival then I probably should.

"The Eye of Onyx is like a talisman that is worn and created for the Sandwing Queen. I do believe it was created by an animus dragon by I'm not sure who created it."

Scarlet was surprised by how knowledgeable I was which made her think for a moment. I was hoping she would let me go or be a servant or something that doesn't get me killed. "You know despite you being a scavenger, your pretty smart, I could use someone like you...but for what?"

I just stand there. In front of the menacing throne, Queen Scarlet sits. She stares at me with a creepy smile. Her giant stature isn't helping me with staying calm. Her claws were making a tapping sound, unsure of what she'll do with me until she finally spoke.

"From now on you'll be my pet but also a Royal scientist because you seem to know things but for you to live in the Sky Kingdom, you must first survive the arenas. Oh, I can't wait I should invite Burn to watch. How thrilling!"

I try contesting my fate with the arena but Scarlet didn't care. I guess to live in the Sky Kingdom you must be one of the strongest or also known as natural selection.

...

I lay on the cold hard stone pillar, staring at the night sky. The sky was being illuminated with the three moons at their brightest and the stars pulsating without any light pollution to block them but what really made the night sky mesmerizing to look at was the Aurora Borealis. I was surprised to see them for the first time. I wonder what the dragons call them.

The sky was illuminated with colors of cyan, purple, and blue

The sky was illuminated with colors of cyan, purple, and blue. I was lost in the beautiful sight as if my soul left my body and accented towards the heavens. I suddenly feel something in my right pocket and check to see my phone was in there.

"Huh?"

I quickly grab it to see it wasn't destroyed from all the events that happened and the battery was at 85%.

What could I do with the remaining battery? I thought for a moment but decided to listen to some music to help ease my nerves for tomorrow's arena fights. I scroll through my downloaded playlist and find a song that's perfect for the mood. Thank god I downloaded that app that allows you to download YouTube videos.

I play the song "All you are going to want to do is get back there" and it instantly gave me some nostalgia. I turn the volume all the way up and look up at the night sky. The music on my phone was playing unexpectedly loud because it caused the dragons that were close to me to perk up. The dragons most definitely haven't listened to this type of music or jazz but I do wonder what kind of music they produce.

On my left was an Icewing, it had its wing membranes damaged making it impossible to for it fly. The dragon on my right was a Mudwing, it looked like a new prisoner because it looked kinda fat compared to the others that looked like they were starved. Both of them were interested in the music playing. They were staring at me with their heads cocked.

Soon the other dragons were able to hear it and eventually every prisoner was able to hear it. Somehow the music was able to reach the opposite side of the pillars. Everyone was tuning in and liked it. Probably because it had a psychological effect on them because all they hear is the loneliness of the wind, the screaming of the crowds, and dragons killing each other. The song was supposed to have a psychological effect but it was on remembering things and nostalgia but the dragons seemed to take a liking to it.

Some of the dragons were mimicking what I was doing by laying on their backs and watching the stars while others were taping their claws on stone. This continued for a bit until the song was over and then the eerie silence came back again. I could play another song or play music all night long but I decided to get sleep for tomorrow.
