So here I am, standing blankly on the pavement where the trolley had just left me, holding my large, pink, vibrant, hello kitty suitcases- which I've had since I was eight years old. They're about as big as I was when I was eight- Jesus.
Well, Phil said he would meet me here, so I guess I'll continue sitting here looking like a socially awkward git. I shuffle my feet, moving out of the way of staring, mortified walkers. Maybe braided pigtails was a bad combination with these suitcases.
I fumble to get my phone from my back jean pocket but of course with my luck, I dropped it solid on the ground. I bend down to reach it, "Shi-"
"Alice!" someone let's out an excited squeal up above me.
I grab my phone and look up to see my cousin. "Phil!"
"Hey!" he says with a crooked smile, opening his arms up for a bear hug.
"Hi!" I say smiling and collapsing into his arms. "I've missed you! It's been way to long!" I shuffle so I can see his face, "You know, Phil, there's such thing as communication with your relatives, not just your bloody fans."
He starts to protest but I playfully whack his arm, "Just kidding, twit, you know I love you."
He let's out a sigh of relief and a light friendly smile. This is when he notices my suitcases. I turn and look at them - lovely, then I turn back to him and shrug, "Do you know where I'm staying? 'Cause I have no idea."
"As a matter-of-fact, I do." he says smiling and moving his arm out like a bellhop, "You're actually in an apartment just down the street from where I live."
I take his arm, "Lead the way. "

Phil took me to see my apartment. It was pretty cozzy. I could definitely make it work. I mean, it doesn't have a fabulous shower but since I live right next to Phil it didn't really matter.
I threw my bags against my bed and stretched.
Phil stood next to me questionally, "You're not going to unpack?"
"Yeah, in a minute." I said, still stretching.
"Wanna come to my pad real quick first, then? Get your spare key?" Phil asked shoving his hands into his pockets.
The offer made me smile, like really smile. I don't know why I was so upset about coming here, he's still the Phil I've always known. "Absolutely."
The walk there was full of nice, laughing, genuine catching up. It was really great to see Phil again after all this time.
We sat outside the door until he managed to get it open. "Ah ha!" he says happily as he opens the door.
I follow behind him. I could hear someone in the shower. His roommate. He mentioned him a few times. Dan. Also known as Danisnotonfire on YouTube. I've never watched him, but I sure as hell heard of him....
Phil goes over to a cabinet and begins to search. I follow him and lean up against the counter.
"So, want to hangout tomorrow?"
He moves over some stuff in the cabinet. "Yeah, totally. Hopefully tomorrow you can meet Dan too," his eyes light up when he finds what he was looking for. He pulls down a large jar full of keys.
"There you are," he says as he pulls out an identical key to his own. Just as he hands it too me, I hear the bathroom door open, light singing- which I think is The Lion King, footsteps, and then another door close.
I stand there frozen. Yeah, hopefully I can meet Dan tomorrow.
