Your books were your most prized posessions, not your phone or your jewelry, it just so happened to be your books. And you were so lucky that your girlfriend, Lizzie also shared your love of literature.
Every few weeks, you both would go to your favourite book store, to browse and buy new reads. Today, was the day and you were just bouncing with excitement.
"Lizzie. Lizzie. Lizzie. Lizzie." You shouted to get her attention.
"What, darling?" She smiled, looking up from the book she was reading whilst drinking her morning coffee.
"IT'S BOOKSTORE DAY." You squealed, and Lizzie laughed, her nose srunching in the adorable manner it does.
"Yes it is, baby. Now come drink your tea and tell me about all the books you hope to find."
Yes, Lizzie made you tea. Knowing you have enough energy without the coffee, and with coffee you would become like a child on a sugar rush.
You sat down and rambled about all the books you wanted to read, since deleting social media reading had become yours and Lizzie's way to connect to the world, but in a much less toxic way.
"Okay baby, it's time to go." Lizzie finally said, you got into the passenger seat of the car quicker than ever before.
Your fingers interlocked with your girlfriends as you left the driveway. You returned 2 hours later, with five bags full of books. Lizzie didn't mind at all, seeing you content brought more joy to her than anything else, and all these books would keep you busy for a good month, or maybe even two.
