After a long day, you were ready to take a relaxing bath. Already wearing a robe and your hair up in a messy bun, you took your phone and went to the bathroom.
Your plan was interrupted by an unexpected doorbell.
Sighing, you headed to the door. After checking who it was, you quickly unlocked the door opening it.
Your boyfriend Bucky was standing in front of you, looking sad, like a puppy drenched in the rain. "Hi, doll-" He attempted a small smile. "Sorry I showed up un-"
You didn't let him finish the sentence as you pulled him into a tight hug. "Are you alright?"
His arms slid over the soft material of your robe, enveloping you in his arms. "I am now." He mumbled against your hair, letting out an exhausted sigh. "It was one hell of a day. I needed to see you."
"Come inside." You locked the door behind him.
"Am I in a bad time?" He looked at your attire.
"No, I was just about to take a bath."
"Go ahead, I'll wait for you." He let go of you with a smile taking off his jacket. Before going anywhere, you kissed him hard. "Go." He chuckled, shooing you to the bathroom.
"I'll be fast. There's some food in the fridge." You went to the bathroom and took a quick shower instead of a bath.
When you returned, Bucky had already fallen asleep on the couch. You tried to wake him up to go to the bedroom, but he slept further. You draped a blanket over him and got comfortable beside him. There wasn't a lot of space, but you made it work. You placed your hand on his chest and snuggled up to him. He stirred and tangled his legs with yours.
"Do you wanna go to bed?" You whispered, softly tracing the side of his face, assuming he was awake.
Bucky half-opened his eyes, and then they fell close again, nuzzling his face in the crook of your neck. Poor thing was exhausted. You pressed a kiss to the top of his head and gently scratched his head with your nails. He loved when you did that. It helped him relax. He murmured something you couldn't understand and slept further.
In the morning, you woke up still wrapped in Bucky's arms, but now you were in your bed. Apparently, at some point in the night, Bucky must have carried you to the bedroom. A smile tugged at his lips when he noticed you were awake.
"Good morning, sunshine." You smiled and moved to straddle him, hovering over him. The soft morning sunlight gave your hair a golden glow. In his eyes, you looked like an angel. You were his angel. His home. No matter what, he could always come to you and feel at peace.
"Good morning, beautiful." He chuckled, his smile growing bigger.
"How did you sleep?" Pecking his forehead and each of his cheeks and then lips, you smiled at him.
His hands rested on your hips, lazily sliding up and down. "Slept like a baby."
"Good." You ruffled his hair. "I missed you." You laid your head on his chest.
"I was gone for only three days." He pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head.
"Three days too much."
"I missed you too, honeybun."
"Honeybun?" You frowned, raising your head to look at him. You weren't a big fan of nicknames Bucky sometimes called you, but he loved to tease you with them.
"My sugarplum." He chuckled, rolling you on your back.
"Stop that." You laughed.
"Never." He grinned triumphantly. "I love you..." He leaned closer to you, mischief written all over his face. "Sugar."
"I love you too, but I'm allowing this only because you're cute." You rolled your eyes and pulled him into a kiss again.
