You are watching a horror movie, comfortably snuggled in your bed. The movie was scarier than you thought it would be and it gave you goosebumps. You even left the light on so it wouldn't feel so spooky, but it frightened you anyway.
At a particularly scary moment, you felt as if something was crawling on your hand. Convinced that it's because you slept on it, you glanced at it. A big spider is crawling on your hand. As soon as you saw it, you screamed, jumping up from the bed.
Running out of your room you bumped into something hard, stumbling back.
"Whoa, you alright there, doll?" Bucky asked worriedly. He was on his way to his room. "You look like you've seen a ghost."
"No, I'm far from alright! A spider was crawling on me while I was watching a movie!" You checked if it wasn't on you.
"Wait, you were watching a movie without me?" Bucky frowned.
"Is that all you got from what I said?" You stared at him in disbelief.
"You want me to take a look if the big bad spider is still there?" He offered, placing his hands on your shoulders, rubbing your upper arms, trying to comfort you.
"Yes, please."
"Alright. Hold behind me if he jumps, I'm gonna protect you." Bucky smirked, moving in front of you, and you pinched his side. "Hey, be nice." Bucky chuckled, catching your arm, holding it to his waist. "Show me where you saw him last."
You guided him to your bed, standing behind his back and peeking over his shoulder while suspenseful music played from the TV.
"Ah!" Bucky gasped. You assumed he saw the spider, so you clung closer to him. "You were watching a horror movie without me. I thought that was our thing." He stopped turning to you for answers.
"It is our thing, but you were out, and I was bored." You innocently batted your lashes. Lately, you found yourself hanging out with Bucky more than usual. Watching movies and having late-night talks, you found yourself falling for him more with every day.
"Oh, we're gonna, so talk about this later."
Bucky thoroughly inspected your bed, lifting pillows and blanket to check if the intruder was still there. Meanwhile, you stood at the safe distance, patiently waiting, twirling a lock of hair around your finger.
"Looks like it's long gone, doll," Bucky stated after carefully inspecting every inch of the bed. "Are you sure you didn't imagine it?"
"I'm sure of it. If only you have seen him. It was scary." You hugged yourself, feeling uncomfortable and scared. "I don't think I will be able to sleep here tonight."
"You can always stay with me." Bucky offered with a smirk, suggestively quirking his eyebrow. You stared at him for a long time considering his offer.
"Okay." You headed out of the room. Bucky was pleasantly surprised that you agreed. He turned off the TV and followed you to his bedroom.
It wouldn't be the first time you slept together. Sometimes you would fall asleep next to each other and wake up a tangled mess of limbs in the morning. You always found comfort in the presence of each other. With time Bucky opened up to you and shamelessly flirted every time got a chance to do that, making your cheeks blush.
You got in his bed, and Bucky joined you a bit later after he got ready for bed.
"Are you comfy?" Bucky asked. "Don't be shy, come closer to me. I will protect you from any spiders." He promised.
"Stop talking about spiders, Bucky!" You moved closer to his side as he put his arm around your shoulders.
Bucky chuckled and turned on the TV to watch a movie as you did at least once a week. You felt your cheeks warm up as you snuggled closer to Bucky, draping your arm around his waist. In his arms, you always felt safe, like nothing could hurt you.
Mindlessly he was tracing random shapes on your shoulder, sending your heart racing. You hoped he couldn't hear it with his supersoldier hearing.
"Still thinking about it?" Bucky asked after a while. "Your heart is beating like crazy."
"Every time I feel something, I think it's a spider crawling on me." Good thing you could blame that on the spider.
Bucky hooked his finger under your chin, gently tilting it up to meet your eyes in the dim light. The flickering blue light from the screen illuminated his features. You didn't have time to understand what was happening before he quickly licked his lips and kissed you softly. His lips molded perfectly against yours. Of course, he was an amazing kisser, not that you doubted it.
"Thought you could use a distraction." Bucky smiled, stroking your cheek with his thumb. "Did it work?"
"It sure did." You wrapped your arm around the back of his neck, pulling him to you.
"Good." Bucky tangled his fingers in your hair. "Because I wanted to do this for so long." He said before meeting your lips.
"Did you put that spider in my room to get me in your bed?" You pulled away from him.
"I would never do that." He smiled, tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. "Although that would be a good plan." He thought about it more.
"Bucky!" You playfully slapped his arm. "Don't even think about that."
"All I'm thinking about right now is how much I want to kiss you." Bucky grinned as you gripped his shirt, pulling him on top of you.
