Izuku had just turned seventeen and he had everything going for him. He wanted to learn about the world outside of the small village he lived in his whole life. Izuku wanted to discover things and write about them in his brown leather covered notebook. He loved finding creatures or plants to document on the line-less paper bound together by thin, but strong rope. So for the first time in his entire life he's leaving the safety of his mother and their village to travel the world and see all sorts of new things. Of course his mother was very worried, but she didn't want to deter him from chasing his dreams.

"Are you sure about this sweetie?" Inko questioned as they stood near the wooden front door to their mushroom shaped house

Izuku nodded.
"Yes mother, I want to see the world!" He smiled as he shrugged on his faded yellow bag that he's had for many years

Inko looked to the side.
"I know. I'm just worried about you going out on your own." She furrowed her brows

Izuku kept his smile, but gathered his mother's hands into his own scarred ones from helping in the small farm they had going.
"I'll be fine and I'll make sure to send you letters the moment I arrive in each town I plan to pass through." He told her

Inko sighed then gave a small smile even though she was still reluctant to let her son go off on his own. The world was big and dangerous.
"Alright, please be careful." She told him once more

Izuku nodded.
"I will!" The slightly taller said as he let go of his mother's hands

Inko pulled her son into a tight hug, not really wanting to let go.
"Goodbye Izuku." She sniffled

Izuku's smile became softer as he hugged his mother just as tight.
"Bye mom, I'll miss you so much!" He replied, feeling his eyes tear up

He couldn't help but feel emotional too, but he wanted to start a new chapter of his life and start writing his own story. Izuku can't do that if he stays on the farm forever. So it was time to leave the nest and make his own way in the world. Inko pulled back, cupping the other's face. He really had grown up so much. No longer were those cheeks cubby with baby fat, no longer was he knee height, no longer was he a child she needed to protect all the time. She knew the day would come when Izuku wanted to go off on his own and today was that day. Was she ready? No but what parent is ready to let their child go into a world that could hurt them around every corner? Inko relented though because she had grown up in this village and she'll probably die in it too. She doesn't want that for her son. She wanted him to see all the world had to offer. So after wiping a few of his tears she let go.

"I will too, but have fun and be safe." She said as he walked down the steps of their home

Near the fence that surrounded their little cottage, Izuki nodded with a smile and started off down the dirt road. He was so excited to go on his new adventure even though he would truly miss his mother, but as they say the baby bird needs to leave its nest if it wants to fly. So after a day of walking he came into a town he knew since he and his mother often got products from many places there. Izuku paid for a room at the inn and the next day he went another town over. He visited some of the shops after sending off a letter to his mother, that was his first priority when he arrived, and at an apothecary shop he met a lovely Witch whose name was Uraraka. She gave him some healing potions and because they hit it off so well she took him to the town tavern where he met another lovely girl named Asu. She was a bar wench and happily served them mead on the house. They were both sweet, but after a few days there he bid his goodbye and went on his way again. In the next town Midoriya arrived at, he ran into a stranger by accident. The guy didn't mind much and he had odd colored hair which caught Midoriya's interest, not that he had much room to talk with his own very green colored hair.
