'Was it too late to ask for redemption? Or was a guardian angel about to descend and save me from this predicament at the last moment? Either way, I accept my fate. Alien or not, my life surely ends here.' I had thought to myself, trembling quietly in fear while hearing the gentle light stepping of what I thought to be my impending doom.
Though it appeared even in my last moments, life had other plans for the likes of me. I opened one eye after several seconds of cowering and saw a glimpse of the legs on the figure.
'It definitely stands on two of them like a human.' I thought. The texture of it's flesh looked a little artificial, but also natural? Somehow it managed to fool me into thinking it wasn't flesh, but an exoskeleton of some kind.I heard a faint snapping and some sort of slime noise, as if retreating or opening. Followed by it were words from a soft, but kind of winded out feminine voice.
"Are you hurt..? Your fall was pretty nasty.."
Upon hearing the words my eyes physically widened and I thought I was already dreaming my way into heaven, but it was reality.
As I uncovered my cowardly face from the hold of my arms, I looked up at the person standing before me. A human face? It belonged to a woman with long faintly purple hairs, covered in dirt and dust. Her face was lightly bruised and had weird tribal looking marks on it, which were hard to see in the darkness that surrounded us. Her expression was neutral, if not even..friendly?
"Hey, I'm talking to you there! Do you need a hand?"
She had spoken to me again and reached her hand out, the texture of her..suit, I assumed? From the way her previously faceless head had turned into a woman's, I assumed it was a mask, and the rest was a combat suit of some sort. The hand of her suit creeped me out though and I backed away instead of taking her hand.
"W-What just..? Who are y... What are you wearing? Wait no, there are more important questions to ask here..." I had obviously panicked in that moment, as anyone who had 'witnessed' an alien sighting had. Though the woman didn't seem to find the situation amusing, as she was quick to put a palm onto her face in a gesture of disappointment.
"Hm... How do I explain this... What you saw was a dream, okay? A figment of your imagination-!" She tried to explain, but I rightfully interrupted her.
"UMM, NO! I won't ignore what just happened! You..whoever or whatever you are! You just..just...killed those..alien things. What even..were those?!"
I yelled out throughout the forest, demanding answers for the unexplainable scene that unfolded before me. As I did I began to attempt and stand up, yet fell back down a few feet away from her, this time yelping out in pain.
"You're not well. You should call an ambulance." She said to me again. I waved my hand in disagreement before I stood back up for real this time. On the way up I grabbed my flashlight. I fearlessly looked back at her and with a more clear vision finally got to take in her looks by shining my light at her.
She was average height, just a few inches shorter than me, if that and of a slimmer build. The suit I previously described really was incredibly terrifying and roughly textured, almost like wood-infused flesh. It was colored as purple and on some places glowed dimly. Though I couldn't shake off the feeling of it moving around when I wasn't focusing on it.
The last thing I took notice of, apart from her figure, was a large deep scar that clearly went through her suit and marked a spot on her left thigh. The suit glowed deeply around the wound and definitely pulsated around it.
"Those aliens wounded you badly... They even tore through that..armor." I said.
"I know. It isn't pretty, but it'll recover on its own, I assure you." She said in her soft voice.
"You weren't hurt, you were you? I thought this area was clear of humans." Her eyes showed somberly."No, no, I'm okay," I reassured the stranger, though concern crept into my voice. "You should have that checked, though. It looks deep. I can help. I have a first-aid kit at my camp just down that path. Would you like me to take a look?" I offered my assistance without hesitation, and though doubt flickered in her eyes for a moment, she eventually nodded in agreement.

In a matter of minutes, we arrived at the camp, and the woman was visibly limping by the end of our short journey. As soon as we reached the camp, I swiftly jogged to my backpack to retrieve the first-aid kit. Meanwhile, she settled by the dying fire, examining her cut. While I searched for the aid, I stole glances at her, noticing an unsettling movement and flicker from her suit around where the wound was, causing me to worry some more about the unnatural nature of it.
"Here it is! Now, let me take a look..." I settled down beside her on the log and examined the wound. To my relief, it was not as severe as I had imagined, but it still required careful attention.
As I extended my hand to begin cleaning the wound, I witnessed an astonishing sight. The torn body suit inexplicably contracted, as if repairing itself over the slice. My suspicion was confirmed; there was undoubtedly something peculiar about this outfit-it seemed to possess a life of its own. I glanced up at her, and she let out a sigh, appearing somewhat embarrassed, her gaze averted as if acknowledging the peculiar nature of the suit..
"It's... complicated. Can I just...?" I passed her the kit, trusting she knew how to properly treat the wound. As her fingers neared the cut to clean it, the suit once again contracted, revealing the wound back up in a strange, eerie manner.
I was quietly staring at the careful and attentive fingers on her hand while she cleaned the cut. I was baffled such an event was happening and barely had any words, except a basic question.
"What's your name..?"
"Kai'sa." She answered.
