Chapter 2 - Noah

      Great, my alarm for school is going off. I really would rather not go, it's so boring. I obviously hit snooze because it's way too early.
      Okay maybe I should get up now so I'm not late for school, Coach wouldn't be too happy about that. I'm his best player and my school is strict with being late to school and class which sucks, even if you have a pass! If I don't get to school on time I can't play in the football game this Friday. So I get up and go to the bathroom to brush my teeth when I see that my little brother, Aidan, was in there.
      I knock on the door "Bro can you hurry up?" I ask kindly since he's only a kid.
      "Yea give me one second" he says in a soft tone.
      I walk back to my room to get dressed since I know that it's not gonna be one second like c'mon now, we're talking about an eight year old here. I start thinking to myself, what if I see Anna today? She's so pretty with her green eyes and brunette hair. She always wears it up in a messy bun which is just so beautiful to me. I feel bad for having to be a dick to her but if the whole school knew I had a crush on her, I'd be called a loser which sucks so bad. All the football players make fun of her and I just sit there doing the same. I want to tell her so bad but she would definitely think that I'm joking with her and the football team told me to say that to her.
      I hear my brother get out of the bathroom after what felt like ages. I walk out my room to see my mom frantically get ready for work. Since dad left things around here have gotten stressful for us especially my mom having to be a single parent.
      "Good morning honey" she says while hugging me. "Are you ready for the first day of school?"
      "Of course," I say with a fake smile hugging her back. "You want me to drive Aidan to school today?"
      "Can you please, I don't want to be late for work" she says while pulling away.
      "Yea don't worry" I say with a reassuring smile.
      "Thank you" she says smiling. Seeing my mom smile makes me happy since Aidan and I hear her crying every night.
      She gives me a hug and rushes down the stairs to go pack her lunch and make her coffee. I go into the bathroom and brush my teeth and do my hair because hello, I can't go into school looking like I have a bird's nest on my head. It doesn't take me that long to get ready in the morning but my brother gets distracted really quickly so I constantly have to keep checking up on him every five seconds.
      "Aidan are you getting ready?" I ask.
      He walks out his room, "Try I am ready" he says.
      I laugh because he comes out with the weirdest things sometimes and it just confuses me. He always makes me laugh whenever I'm feeling down, that's what I love about my brother, he's my best friend.
      We both walk downstairs and grab our lunches. Today we're having a peanut butter jelly sandwich like usual because it's the best sandwich ever. I grab my keys and we both walk out the door when Aidan says he forgot his gift for Abby. He got her a stuffed animal since she loves them. And yes Abby meaning Anna's little sister. Aidan and Abby have been best friends ever since they were in preschool. They both have a huge crush on each other which is cute. I wish Anna and I could connect like that, it would be the best thing in the world.
      "Okay now I'm ready," he says, running out the house.
      "You sure?' I ask.
      "Yes I'm sure" he says while running to the car.
I laugh and lock the door. I walk to my car and unlock it and get in. I start the car and drive to the elementary school. I start to think about Anna again. I'm so excited to see her today. If only she knew.
      I drop Aidan off at school and start driving towards the high school when I see there's been a car accident. The car looked oddly familiar but I couldn't put a finger on it. That's when I remember, it's Anna's mom's car.
