Chapter Five

“‘YUNG totoo, Kisha. Where did you go?”

“I-I can explain!”

“Go on. Ipaliwanag mo sa’kin kung bakit kinailangan mo pang magsinungaling.”

“It’s a long story kuya—”

“And I have a lot of free time.” “I have a lot of time. Simulan mo na ang kwento mo.” He looked at me with a serious face.

I can feel beads of sweat forming on my forehead. “I uh—”

I tiptoed to see kung sino ang nagdadabog. Nakaharang kasi si kuya sa view.

Napalingon din si kuya.

“Hey, young man!” He shouted at Klyde who just arrived. “Where have you been?”

It’s official guys. Kuya’s favorite line is “Where have you been?”.

“Hey, sumagot ka kapag kinakausap ka!” Sigaw niya ulit dahil hindi siya pinansin ni Klyde.

But Klyde only rolled his eyes and entered his room.

“Hey! What the—” Napasinhap siya. He stood straight and walked towards Klyde’s room. He knocked continuously. “Open this door.”

“Go away!” Klyde shouted.

“What—manang! Where are the keys?!” Kuya shouted.

Kuya rarely gets angry. He doesn’t usually ask for keys to our rooms. Sabi niya kasi he respects our privacy.

And this is a rare moment. At this point, galit na talaga siya.

“Manang!”

Manang came running with the keys on her hands.

He looked at me before entering. “Hindi pa tayo tapos mag-usap Kisha.”

I sighed.

Shouting and yelling were heard from Klyde’s room. Nagsisigawan yata sila.

“Klyde! Palagi ka na lang ganito! When will you listen?”

“Paki mo ba!”

“How dare you say that? You—”

I slammed my door to close it.

Well, my room and Klyde’s room used to be neighbors. Pero after noong naging cold siya, he asked dad if he can switch rooms. So, ang katabi ko na ngayon ay ang game room and.. the garden.

I walked to my window and opened it.

I sighed.

Ano kaya feeling ng maging bulaklak?

“Hey, Klyde! Get back here! Hindi pa tayo tapos mag-usap!”

I guess he left, again.

Feeling ko stressed na talaga si kuya. He never shouts. Only when he’s angry or super stressed.

And I only became one of his stressors dahil sa pagsinungaling ko.

The last time he got angry and shouted was when.. Arco left me.

“Have you talked to him yet?” Tanong ni kuya.

“Not yet. He must be busy.”
