Kevin Day was not one to complain. He did what was told of him, performed perfectly alongside Riko, put everything he knew into Exy, yet here he is; stuck in a dilemma he never thought he would end up in.
Neil Josten. Nathaniel Wesninski.
Even the name got his fingers tingling, his breath quickening and his heart aching.
He did not understand why he felt this way, the auburn haired striker touched his soul in a way he never thought was possible. At least, he never thought he would be able to experience it.
Sure, Kevin Day might have had little flings, one night stands here, girlfriends on the side, but exy have always been his first priority.Yet today, as he looked over the court and watched his teammates celebrate victory, he couldn't help but look at Neil.
The striker's face was almost covered completely by the exy gear, his blue eyes staring triumphantly at the rest of the foxes, the subs walking in to celebrate the victory they have achieved.Kevin kept his eyes glued to the mysterious auburn haired striker, not moving a muscle, afraid if he moved he'd ruin the picture perfect moment.
As he heard the crowd cheer for the foxes, cheer for Neil, cheer for himself, he couldn't stop himself from staring at Neil. The familiar ache never going away until he goes to bed and stares at the roof for hours on end.

Kevin never thought he'd find himself here, sitting at the top of the roof of foxhole tower, watching Neil take a drag of his cigarette.
"You know those are bad for you, right?" His voice carried through the wind, making the auburn haired striker turn his head towards Kevin.
"Of course I do" the striker responded simply, blowing out the smoke.
Kevin walked closer, staying a far bit away from the edge."Why do I count on finding you out here, Neil?" Kevin asked, looking down at the blue eyes he oh so dearly loved.
"Maybe because I stopped running away" Neil started, taking a long drag out of his cigarette, blowing the smoke out of his nose. "I am stranded, and the only way I can get some freedom is by climbing up here"
Kevin wanted to tell Neil that he was there for him if he wanted someone to lean on, but the words got stuck in his throat. Instead they kept a silence so thick it couldn't be cut with the sharpest knife.
Eventually Neil stood, crushing the cigarette under his heel and turning around. "I have to ask" Neil starts, walking closest over to Kevin.
Kevin could smell the heavy cigarette smell coming off Neil's clothes and breath.
"Why did you stare so intensely at me when we were playing?"
Kevin swallowed as he heard the question. "I was just worried you were hurt" he says, trying to play it off as worry.
Neil stared at him for a while before he shook his head. "Alright, if you say so"Neil left shortly after, leaving Kevin standing there alone with his deep heartache, a longing.
He wanted to kiss Neil.
Even if he smelled like smoke.||
Kevin never expected Neil to finally accept a drink. It was uncharacteristic of him, making Kevin think if it was Andrew's doing.
The striker and the goalkeeper have been awfully close recently, truly tugging at his heartstrings."I thought you didn't drink"
Kevin's rough voice said as Neil sat with Andrew's crew at a local bar.
Neil just stared empty at Kevin.
