Present Day

3rd POV

Percy sat in the big house with a ping-pong paddle in her hand.

"Reyna, Jason, thank you for coming," Chiron said nodding towards the two Romans.

Reyna nodded in return.

Chiron brought out a whiteboard and a long piece of parchment.

"Are the both of you going to represent the Legion?" Chiron asked.

Reyna sighed and looked over at Percy.

Percy was talking with Travis about who the new ping pong champion was when she heard Reyna clear her throat loudly.

Percy looked up at Reyna and got up.

"Oh, right. So right now we have three Praetors, Reyna, Jason, and I, which is a bit of a problem that needs to be sorted out before New Rome and the Legion can sign any agreements. Right now all we can do is draft something." Percy said and sat back down.

Chiron looked at Percy and nodded. "So let's start planning and once this meeting is over you can hopefully fix this problem?"

Reyna shook her head. "None of the city people will be pleased if Praetors are getting chosen without their say. We have to go back to New Rome after this meeting."

Percy nodded confirming what Reyna said.

They needed to go back to New Rome before anything could be official.

Percy sat on the greyhound next to Jason. She shifted in her seat and looked out the window, it was going to be a long ride to San Francisco.

She leaned against Jason and found herself nodding off to sleep.

Percy woke up to Jason shaking her arm.

"We're here," Jason mumbled. His eyes were still sleepy, and Percy could tell he had only just woken up himself.  Percy grabbed her backpack and headed off the bus. She trailed after Jason.

"Let me call a taxi," Percy walked over to the street curb.

She called her famous taxi-cab whistle while sticking her arm out. A taxi drove to where she was standing. Percy and Jason piled in.

The taxi driver looked over at the two.

"Where to?" He asked.

Jason supplied the address, and Percy looked out the window.

"So....do you still want to be Praetor?" Jason asked after a moment's silence.

Percy turned to face him. "No. I just want to go home to my mom. What about you?"

"New Rome is the only place I've ever really known, and with Piper and Leo gone...I don't see a reason to stay at camp."

Percy nodded and looked out the window. "Let's try to have you and Reyna keep the positions. It's not like I'm Roman anyway." She said. Her eyes scanned the street.

"Hey." Jason grabbed her hand.

"You don't have to be Roman to call New Rome home." He smiled reassuringly.

"Thanks. I'll remember that. In fact, I'm going to spend so much time there that you'll get sick of me!" Percy joked. She smiled, her eyes twinkling as she felt happy for the first time in a while.
