"What makes you think you can steal from child?!" A voice scolds.
"Emiko-chan, please," Another voice pleads.
"No, Tanjiro-kun! He took your candy!" Emiko twists the older child's arm more that has him crying out in pain.
"Please, I'm sorry!" He sobs.
"Do you swear not to steal any more sweets from children?" She asks, loosing her grip a bit.
"Yes, I swear, I swear!" He whimpers.
"Good," She release the boy's arm and pulls away from his back. The thief quickly scrambles away from the young girl. Emiko smirks and begins walking up to the hill where her house stands.
"Emiko-chan, you don't have to be agressive to everyone who crosses your path," The scarlet haired boy reasons, stepping in front of his friend.
"No one hurts or steals from my loved ones," Emiko crosses her arms and resumes walking. Tanjiro sighs and follows the magenta haired girl to her home."I'm home!" Emiko announces cheerfully, only for no one to respond. She pouts and enters, looking around. Tanjiro follows her inside and looks around as well, "They must be out."
Emiko crosses into the family room and finds a note neatly folded up on the table. She reaches for it and reads the contents, "They're at your house visiting!" Emiko shouts and places the note back on the table.
"Let's go then."
*********
"You don't mind, Sir?"
"No, there's demons lurking around at night. Your families will be happy to see you if you're well rested and bright eyed."
"Very well, thank you," Emiko bows her head in respect and continues her meal. Tanjiro smiling and resumes eating as well.
Night has fallen and the two are chatting away, sleep not taking toll quite yet. Emiko looks up at the ceiling and asks, "Do you really think Asashi and Kamado-sama is watching over us?"
