Maya quickly grabbed Liam's arm as he raised the screwdriver to strike Lucifer's mother outside a grocery store parking lot.
"Sorry," Lucifer told Liam. "Can't kill my mum," He grabbed the screwdriver from Liam and whacked him in the head.
"Lucifer!" Chloe exclaimed.
Chloe's arrival was enough distraction for Liam to push away from Maya.
The brunette and blonde detectives quickly ran after Liam.
"Right. You get him, detectives," Lucifer called out "I'll stay here and protect the poor lady!"
"Protect me? From what?" Lucifer's Mother questioned.
Lucifer stabbed his mother in the arm with the screwdriver.
"Ow!" Lucifer's mother looked up at Lucifer in shock "What'd you do that for?"
"The Detective knows you're alive now," Lucifer said. "So, you're gonna have to sell the whole Charlotte charade. Need to explain that blood pool somehow,"
"Oh, you little..."
"Devil? Yes. But about that, we've never met until now, don't know each other. I fear it's too much for the Detective to handle," Lucifer turned as Maya and Chloe were able to slam Liam into one of the cars.
Lucifer's mother looked over as well "Well, looks like they can handle quite a bit,"
"Yes." Lucifer smiled as he watched Maya.

Lucifer walked over to Chloe and Maya once the paramedics looked over his mother. "Seems her wound was re-aggravated in all the hubbub." he reasoned. "Poor woman,"
It took all the strength Maya had not to snort at Lucifer's comment.
"You wanna tell me what the hell you two were doing?" Chloe demanded.
"Well, leading the mouse to the cheese, of course," Lucifer said.
"What am I gonna do with you?"
"Well, I can think of a few things. But they're more Winchester's forte," Lucifer smirked at Maya. "Might need a stretch first, though,"
"You two need to follow the rules,"
"You told us not to ravage suspects." Maya shrugged "I needed to get groceries, and it just so happened that Liam had found Charlotte here as well,"
"No more buying my daughter $200 dolls,"
"She's my Goddaughter!"
"I was teaching her a lesson,"
"Neglect 101?" Lucifer wondered.
"Stay out of this Lucifer," Maya warned. "But he does have a point. You might not see it, Chloe. But you're abandoning Trix in her moment of need,"
"I don't know what happened between you and your mother..."
Maya's breathing hitched.
"And if you ever wanna talk about it, I'm here for you. But listen to me. Doing what's best for your child, it doesn't always make them happy,"
Maya scoffed "Yeah. Right,"
Chloe realized that Maya was crying "Maya?"
Maya held up her hand "Drop it. Message received. But don't you ever act like you knew my family," she headed towards the Impala before another word could be said.
Chloe looked to Lucifer for help on what had just occurred, but the devil merely shook his head as he knew how touchy the family subject was with the young hunter.
