"What's that?" Sirius pointed to something Jules held in her hand.

"A sonic screwdriver," Jules replied while Hermione stared at the item, horrified with how her sister managed to find a sonic screwdriver, so to speak.

"I'm quite sure that's a wand," Sirius quipped. "Where did you get it?"

"I found it," Jules stated, continuing to hold onto the wand.

Sirius let out a sigh, marching over to the kitchen. Hermione followed, looking at her sister, wondering why he wasn 't attempting to remove the wand from her hands. Ron and Harry were busy watching Doctor Who while her father continued making dinner. He'd also prepared tea, as Remus sat at the kitchen table drinking a cup, having made himself quiet at home. "Regulus?" The person in question continued not looking Sirius in the eye. "Your youngest has your wand."

That made her father 's head shoot up, his eyes blinking. "What? How?"

"How should—,"

"It's Jules, dad. How do you think?" Hermione started while Ron and Harry looked at each other.

"So, your dad is a Wizard, not a Muggle?" Ron said.

"That must be—wait. Your sister has his wand?" Harry muttered.

The next thing Hermione knew, both Ron and Harry were headed into the front room while her father continued cooking, but it looked as if whatever he was cooking wasn 't something he could walk away from. Sirius let out a sigh. "Fine. I'll handle it."

Which made her father 's jaw drop. Hermione, remembering how Sirius invited himself over, didn't think that was a good idea.

She was right as Sirius held out his hand to Jules. "Give me the wand."

She looked at him, her mouth forming into a pout. "No."

"Why not?"

"It's daddies sonic screwdriver. He's a Time Lord."

Sirius let out a huff while continuing to hold out his hand. "I really don't have time for this nonsense. "Wand, please."

"No!" Jules's hands shot up into the air, so she held the wand above her head. "My sonic screwdriver!"

And with that, she was off running while Harry and Ron chased her, attempting to catch her, not realizing that Jules was difficult to detect, but chasing her only escalated the problem. Hermione turned and looked at Sirius. "And now I see why you and my dad don't get along."

"What?" Sirius looked at her dumbfounded.

Her father walked in, wiping his hands on a towel. He frowned, watching Jules run around with the wand over her head while Ron and Harry chased her. "What did you do?"

"What did I—,"

The front door opened. Elizabeth returned, as expected, but so had Hermione 's mother. There were no groceries, meaning Elizabeth decided instead to go and fetch their mother. Her mother didn't seem at all bothered by Jules running around with a wand over her head while Harry and Ron chased her, but she did seem bothered by the sight of Sirius. "Who are you?"

"Sirius—,"

"Siri."

"—Black."

"Don't."

Hermione watched her mother 's eyebrows shoot up, yet she knew the look. "You're a part of that family? "

"I—," Sirius looked at her, quite baffled.

It was then—Hermione 's father also knew that look, and he attempted to say something before it happened, but the next thing Hermione knew, her mother had slugged Sirius good and hard in the nose, which led to a string of curses from Sirius in French which made Jules stop dead in her tracks. This, in turn, allowed their father to quickly step over and grab the wand, looking at her with all seriousness. "Not a toy, Jules."

"I know. Daddy's a Time Lord!"

"No, he's not!" Elizabeth blubbered out.

Their dad turned to look at her. "Groceries?"

"I think there are more important things to be worried about, rabbit," their mother quipped. She pointed at Sirius. "What is a Black doing here? And why aren't you in an absolute panic?"

"You mean Sirius?"

"Sirius. As in—," Her mother turned to glare at Sirius. "The escaped fugitive we've all heard about in the news?"

Hermione pushed her lips together as Remus stepped over to the doorway. Regulus looked at her mother and said the strangest thing ever. "Knowing Sirius, he purposefully committed some petty crime so that he could be the first person ever to escape Azkaban. I need to finish dinner," He pointed at Elizabeth. "And you need to go and get the groceries I asked for."

"But—," Elizabeth's jaw dropped.

Their father headed into the other room while Sirius shrugged his shoulders. "Let's stick to that story."

"In other words, it's not the real story?" her mother muttered. "And you're like the rest of them?"

"I'm nothing like—,"

"My godfather was wrongfully convicted," Harry said.

Hermione 's mother looked at Harry, then at Sirius. "Lovely. I guess that means I can't just kick you out now, can I?" She turned to look at Elizabeth. "Well?"

"Okay! Okay! I'll go get the stupid groceries!" She turned, fuming, but before she left, she turned and said, "My dad is not a Time Lord."

"Yeah. That's fiction," Ron muttered. "Bloody obvious."

"Ron, I think they're using Time Lord to mean wizard and witch," Harry replied.

Ron 's eyes blinked, and then, "Oh. Oh! Nutters!" He then turned to Hermione's mom. "What exactly is wrong with Harry's godfather that you'd want to kick him out?"

Hermione watched her mother let out a sigh. Sirius shrugged, brushing aside her mother 's obvious disdain. "I feel the same way about my family, to be honest, so let's leave it at that. And please, for now, let Reg think what he does regarding me escaping and all."

It looked like her mother wanted to say something about that, only for Remus to step in. "First off, I wish to apologize for showing up uninvited like this. I think—," he glanced over at the kitchen. "I think you know how stubborn members of the Black family can be." Which made Hermione's mother cross her arms and continue glaring. "And, it's nice to see that Regulus isn't dead."

"Hey. You could put in a good word for me," Sirius muttered.

"I'm sure she's already heard plenty about you from Regulus, nor am I going to pretend that you've got a tendency to be a major part. Just—try to reconcile with him rather than make waves. You did tell James and me that you regretted not doing more before—well, you know. When we all thought he'd kicked the bucket."

"Dad regenerated," Jules said before hurrying into the kitchen.

A look of horror passed over her mother 's face. "What? He brought up that?"

"That. What did happen to him?" Sirius asked.

"He regenerated," Hermione's mother muttered. "We'll leave it at that for now."
