"Ben..? Ben are you spacing out..?"
Ben tennyson blinked a little as the image of a familiar red headed short haired girl with glasses that were more of a fashion statement than a need. Her short midriffed outfit fluttered a little as she bent over her cousin that had been snoozing in the grass."
"Gwen come on, I'm tired." Ben muttered, trying to close his eyes again.
"Oh no.. we're here cause an alien has been sighted, not because we're on vacation." said Gwen with a small smirk and an arched eyebrow. "If you're asleep when a full blown invasion happens or something similar, how will you EVER live that down with Kevin?"
"Ugh, I you have a point there." Ben muttered as he sat up and yawned. "Alright alright. Lets go.."
Ben stared at the rolling green hills, the clear blue skies, the surrounding forests. He blinked. This didn't look familiar. Nothing he saw was familiar.
"Where are we?" Ben muttered.
At that moment, Ben became aware of something. He didn't know how he became aware of it. He just knew he was aware.
This was a dream.
"Now Tennyson, don't tell me you went right up and got amnesia right after ya bothered to drag me and Gwen out here.. sheesh. Some friend you are."
Ben turned to see a boy standing behind him.
The boy was a year older, but he was far more fit and taller. His face sort of reminded him of Hanzo.
"Kevin?" Ben muttered.
"Yeah, least you remember my name, if you choose to have limited amnesia though, make sure it's not from when you're 10 or or 11 that your memories regress to or whatever." said Kevin with a grin, holding out a hand. "It'd be a pain for me to have to kick your butt all over again."
"Way I remember it, I'm usually the one kicking your butt." Ben said, grinning back in spite of himself as he took Kevin's hand and stood up.
"Ha! Look Gwen, he really does have amnesia." said Kevin. "But in all seriousness dude, you okay? Ya seem more spaced out then usual, and that's saying something."
"I don't know." Ben muttered. "This is a dream. But it feels like a memory, but I'm also sure that this never happened before."
"Well of course its a dream silly."
Ben froze as he watched Erice Tsukuyomi walk out in front of him to stand next to Gwen.
"What are ya dumber than ya look?" Erice said with her typical cheery rebel personality, yet somehow happier, as if Ben were looking at an Erice from before the Radiant War. "It's just our typical job front and center. Hero Work am I right?"
"No kidding." said another familiar voice, who like Erice, shouldn't have been there. "Now now darling, don't get cold feet now. You are the one who beat me of all people."
Ophelia Anderson winked at Ben from next to Kevin, wearing her typical black strapped tube top and short denim shorts, her silvery cross necklace flashing in the sunlight.
"H-hey Ophelia!" said Kevin, blushing and holding up a hand in greeting as Gwen scowled slightly.
"What are you-?" Ben muttered, blinking at the strange awareness and yet unawareness of the fact that it was a dream, and not just a dream, but an absurd dream with an increasingly lower basis in reality.
He felt that maybe he should wake up- but at the same time- Ben was curious at to how this dream would end.
It was just a dream after all.
