"What is it Percy?" Grover asked, his eyes darkening. Percy sighed a little. "Do you think you could keep an eye on my mom and Paul for me?" He asked. Grover widened his eyes. "Why?"

I chewed my tongue, trying to keep myself silent. "Because those things...poisoning the forest...they want to get to me. And they plan on doing that by hurting my parents." Percy replied. Grover sat there in silence for a moment. "That's not the whole story, is it?" He muttered, directing it to me.

I shook my head. "They want him to turn himself in." I said quietly. "Perce, you're not thinking of doing that, are you?" Grover snapped, sounding taken aback. Percy glared at me before answering. "No, of course not! Just...better safe than sorry, right?"

Grover nodded. "I'll get right on it." He said quietly. "Just don't tell Chiron I'm doing it, alright?" Percy and I nodded, and Grover trotted out the door, taking the empty plates with him on a dinner tray.

Percy and I spent another uneventful week in cabin three before something actually happened. Sadly, "what happened" wasn't exactly good.

Percy was doing his usual daily routine, pacing the cabin, stopping beside the window to look outside, pacing the cabin, drving me literally insane...when the fountain started to glow again. "Percy?" I muttered. Percy continued to pace. "Percy!" No answer...

"PERCY! OPEN YOU FREAKING EARS AND LISTEN TO ME!" I screamed. Percy stopped pacing and stared at me, rubbing his ears. "No reason to blow out my eardrums, Princess." He said. I gritted my teeth. "Don't. Call. Me. Princess."

"Perseus Jackson," The fountain spoke (spoke? Is that the correct term?) Percy's full name again. "What do you want, you rotten piece of-" I plugged my ears before Percy could finish his sentence. Yup, nothing like a few cuss words to wake you up in the morning. At least I could tell what Percy was feeling though. He tended to cuss when he was worried, or scared, but he never cussed just to...well...cuss.

The fountain...or the dude behind the mask of fog...chuckled darkly. "No need to use that language, Son of Poseidon. We are only checking on your decision." Percy glared at the fountain, his sea-green eyes narrowed in the ultimate peed off look. "Okay. Here's my decision. No. N-O."

The masked figure started to laugh. "You have made a grave mistake, Perseus. We will see you tonight, whether you like it or not."

The Iris Message disappeared. Percy and I stared at the fountain for an extra five minutes before we got snapped back into the real world.

The sound of pounding hooves echoed outside our door. "Percy!" Chiron's voice shouted from the other side. "Erica!" "What is it, Chiron!?" Percy yelled. "Can I come in, it might be a little more comfortable for us to talk."

"Is brother and sister in there?" Another more muffled voice asked. "Yes, Tyson." Chiron's voice replied. "Can I see them, please?" Tyson's voice questioned. Chrion sighed. "If they open the door."

Percy ran to the door, jerked it open, and was tackled by a half-grown cyclops with shaggy brown hair. Chiron stepped in after him, though much more calmly.

"Brother!" Tyson shouted, squeezing Percy. "Hey, big guy. OH! Watch the ribs, man!" Percy squeaked. Tyson let go. "Sorry, brother." He said. Then he looked at me and broke into a wide, slightly disgusting, peanutbutterish grin. "Sister!" He shouted, tackling me in a flying hug. I hit the ground with a thud that drove the breath out of me. "Ouch! Tyson! Okay, yeah, missed you too! Please, let me breath."

Tyson let go of me, though he was still grinning like a mad man. "Yay! I got to see my brother and sister!" He said, clapping his hands. Chiron smiled a little before turning to Percy and I, the both of us laying on the floor and rubbing our ribs.

"Chiron," Percy said. "Thank the gods you came here. The people poisoning the forest are going to attack camp tonight." "How do you know?" Chiron asked. Before Percy could answer, I spoke up. "They Iris Messaged us twice. They want Percy to turn himself over. I don't know why, but I swear it's the truth. They threatened to attack his mom, his step-dad...and me. They're trying to get to him."

Chiron just stood there for a moment, looking stunned. Tyson suddenly looked very sad, and that's saying a lot. He never looked sad. Percy glared at me, yet again, as if he didn't want anyone to know about the whole ransom thing. Was this a ransom situation? Maybe it was more categorized under blackmail.

Finally, Chiron sighed. He shook his head and looked at the floor for a second. Then he looked up at Percy, and summarized what I was thinking into six simple words.

"Why must it always be you?"
