The days ticked by with her crashing on Fez's couch. He was in and out of the house, spending time with her when he was home. The only thing she had planned that week was a meeting with Cal and then the party on Friday so she had been avoiding going back to the Jacobs house.

That morning she was woken up by Fez. "Damn. You're still here?" he asked, surprised but not annoyed.

Despite the nonchalant nature, his statement filled her with dread. Obviously it was an issue that she was hanging out at his house this much. "Yeah. I've got nothing else to do." she shrugged, sitting up on the couch and running a hand through her hair.

At this point there wasn't really much for him to stay. Of course he didn't mind her being there. It was really nice to have another person around that he could trust, since so many people he was around were dangerous acquaintances. "Well, you can stay as long as you want but I'm not gonna be around all the time."

After turning her phone over on the table she saw a message telling her to meet him at the office in an hour. That would give her just enough time to go back to the house and get changed into something professional. "That's ok. I actually have to go to a meeting with Cal later," she replied.

She rushed out of the house with a quick goodbye. Franky she was uninterested in the meeting. But the company was paying her bills so she had to do at least the bare minimum.

She did manage to arrive at the office just in time, in a bland dress and a stuffy blazer. She didn't understand why she should have to dress like an old lady to have an hour and a half talk with her uncle.

"Hey kiddo, good to see you," he said when she walked in the door.

She held back a groan as she sat down. Cal Jacobs made her sick. Although the cheating was an issue, she really couldn't care less about who he was hooking up with. But the anger that he had caused him to be awful to his wife and sons. It also didn't help that he enabled her father to destroy his family as well.

"What do you need from me, Uncle Cal?" she got right to the point, skipping the pleasantries.

He got the idea and grabbed a bunch of paperwork from his desk. He placed the pile on the table and handed her a pen. It was simple stuff, signing off on new developments and hiring new crews. She looked through the financials and made sure it was all in order.

When she finished she passed the pen back to him and began to stand up. "Wait," he demanded, making her sit back down.

"What?" she asked, anger tinting her voice.

"We need to talk about your stake in this company." he sounded very serious. She felt like a teenager getting scolded for sneaking out.

"What about it?" she asked sharply.

"I can buy you out for a couple million. But if you want to keep your share you need to put more time in. It was an offer but it sounded more like a threat.

"I'm gonna be in town for a while so I'll see what I can do. I already do a lot for this company and we both know that." It was true, she was an expert at securing land and permits for building. She didn't know much about the intricacies of building but she was good with people and it made her an asset.

Her stance was firm, she was staying in the company. He had clearly invited her here to offer the buyout, but she had made it clear that wasn't happening. The more he pushed the more she would want to be involved and there was a chance she could get the rest of the shareholders on her side as well. He couldn't take that chance.

So with her final statement on the matter, she left the office. She wasn't sure where to go from here. She didn't want to go home and see Nate but she felt like she had overstayed her welcome at Fez's house.

Reluctantly she went home but no one was there so she settled into her room and decided to take a nap.
