The forest was still, no birds nor any other animal could be heard. The forest was dark, but not due to the night, but due to the clouds that cast their shadows above. A lake sat near a dark clearing, the waters calm and undisturbed until a ripple emerged.
The ripples grew until a figure shot out of the water, a man. Next came a hideous beast, it's body like that of a spider but larger and far stronger than any seen by common folk. The man, blade in hand ran for the creature, it's sheer size not enough to send the man running.
No instead, he faced it head on. Already two of it's legs gone, it gave him the advantage he needed to strike the beast through its mouth then it's head. It fell dead within the lake.
Making his way out of the water the man made it to the shore to find a fawn dead with a gash in it's lower side. "Today's not your day is it." Suddenly rustling could be heard throughout the lakes clearing. Sword in hand the man slowly trekked towards the tree line. Before he reached a voice that called out to him. "No, not really. Not when someone just killed what I traveled here to kill my self."
Out from the tree line came a woman, no more than 23 maybe slightly older. Her body clad in dark coloured pants and top. Attached around her waist was a scabbard with the hilt of a sword on show. Looking closer her eyes were a mesmerising blue, as dark as the clear night sky and what seemed like stars danced inside them.
The women spoke again but directly addressing the man this time. "I'm surprised that you were able to kill it, but then again I should expect no less of a Witcher, let alone Geralt of Rivia."

He didn't seem fazed by my presence or my remark, but really that's what I was expecting. Returning my gaze back to Geralt he was now on his way over to his hoarse that stood obediently by the trees waiting for it's master.
"I'm surprised you came this far at all, all the villagers I've come across wanted to stay as far away from this lake as possible." Taking in a sigh I turned to face him with my arms crossed over my chest. "Well I'm not one of the villagers, and I could have easily killed the Kikimora."
I heard him give a 'mhm' in response, this aggravated me, just because he had never met me doesn't me he can just assume I can't kill a simple monster. I silently took the dagger from my side and made my way over to Geralt, within seconds my blade was at his neck. Groaning in surprise he lifted his hand to mine and tried to release my grip on it, but I wouldn't relent. "Still think I couldn't kill it, I got the slip on a Witcher, seems like an accomplishment to me."
Releasing the dagger from his throat I put it back at my side. "I never actually said you couldn't kill it." Chuckling to my self I lifted my head, then dark blue met shining gold. His eyes were like endless pools of molten gold and dark specs seemed to swim in them. Blinking and clearing my throat I retorted. "Just because you didn't say anything doesn't mean that you weren't implying or thinking it."
He had now finished collecting all his belongings and saddled his hoarse. I walked behind him as he rood ahead. I wasn't following him it just so happened that I was actually already going the same way he was and had the same destination, Blaviken.
