A/N Here's the next chapter.
After leaving the tavern Geralt grabbed Rouch from were we had left him and made our way through the town and started along a dirt road that was suppose to lead to the crop fields where the 'devil' had been spotted.
Not long into the journey Geralt had insisted that I ride Rouch as he lead us along. At first I had protested but eventually gave up, and now here I sat upon Rouch as Geralt guided us along the dirt path.
A little less than half an hour later I could hear panting coming from not far behind us. Turning in the saddle I saw someone running up to us. Once they got closer I noticed it was the bard from the tavern.
He made it to us, so now he was walking alongside Rouch and me. "Need a hand, I've got two, one for each of the devils horns." His seemed even more annoying than I remembered and it had only been around an hour since our last encounter.
Geralt finally tried getting rid of him. "Go away." Only that didn't work. Instead he just continued to follow beside us. "I won't be anything but silent back up." Can't he he just leave us alone, I mean come on.
Continuing on, the bard still wouldn't leave and even kept talking. "Look I heard your notes and yes, maybe real adventures would make better stories, and you two smell just chock-full of them."
I was about to say that he should leave and go and look for one, but he just kept speaking. "Among other things, I mean what is that onion." He turned from facing Geralt to now looking up at me and went on. "And you distinctly smell of hoarse." Giving him a harsh glare I retorted saying, "maybe because I've been ridding one for about an hour. You think of that."
He seemed annoyed by my statement, but still wouldn't shut up. Silent back up my butt. He then went on to talk about us also smelling of death and adventures among other things.
Finally getting to annoying to handle I nodded towards Geralt, who caught on to my idea, as I kicked the bard over to him and then Geralt punched him in the stomach. "Ah, ah. You just kicked me." He looked up at me and then slightly glared at Geralt. I just shrugged my shoulders and continued to ride Rouch.
....
We continued on our course, and in spite of everything the bard continued to follow us. To be fair it wasn't as if he was rubbing off on me, but he was becoming possibly, maybe slightly more bearable. "Reading between the lines and forgiving the kick's and gut punches, old chums. I'd say the both of you have a bit of an image problem if you were to ask me."
I looked down at the bard from were I sat and said quite calmly, "we didn't, but yet here we are, with you." He only laughed at my words and went on to talking again.
"Now if I were to join you on this, uh, feet to defeat the devil of Posada, I could relieve the both of you of that title, all the north would be to busy singing the tale's of Geralt of Rivia the, uh, white wolf or something. Oh and um, Karina the black stallion of the north."
I saw Geralt's grip tighten on the reins as he became more annoyed with bard. "Butchers is right." The bard started reaching out towards Rouch whilst saying, "you mind if I come up there, it's just I'm not wearing the proper foot wear-" Me and Geralt interrupted him at the same time. "Don't touch Rouch." I looked to geralt and gave a slight smirk as he gave me one back.
Geralt pulled on the reins and stopped rouch from going any further. I swung my leg over the saddle and landed on the ground beneath me. I started walking off knowing that Geralt was just tying Rouch up. I also just wanted to get away from the bard, which at some point I leant his name was Jaskier.
Walking through a thin path along some stone walls on either side of me I started to see a an end when I heard shouting coming from behind me. "Geralt were are you going, don't just leave me." I waited for a moment until Geralt caught up with me and started on again.
Jaskier had finally caught up once I reached an open area, bordered by tall grass and more stone structures. "Well what are we looking for again." Once again his voice rung in my ears, but I just kept ignoring him, besides it was rather humorous to here his and Geralt's constant banter.
"Blessed silence." Geralt answered with a rather annoyed tone, which did not surprise me. "Yeah I don't think I could go for that. Have either of you ever hunted a devil before, Geralt, Karina."
Finally feeling like it was the right time to but in I stated the obvious for Jaskier. "Devils don't exist." He came up beside me and asked. "Right. Then what are we doing?" I just waved him off and walked ahead to keep searching.
The grass made it harder to search for anything, but I made due until I heard shouting coming from behind me. Turning I found Jaskier staring at a part of the grass with wide eye's. Running up to him I found the exact creature we were looking for. Only it wasn't a devil at all, but a Sylvan.
I was going to tell Jaskier to stop screaming and just leave, but it was to late, the both of us were already being thrown off our feet by the Sylvan. Geralt came running to us both and started fighting him as well as throwing insults around. "No Geralt just leave him alone, he's harmless."
Before Geralt could here me something came running at him and kicked him in the head, knocking him out cold. "Yeah well I'm not." Now standing infront of me was an auburn haired she elf. She came running at me.
Trying to block her blows I grabbed my bow from my back, but even if i tried she just kept trying to land a punch or even a kick but thankfully for me I was just to fast for her. "Please stop, I don't want to hurt you." She grunted and shouted at me. "Well I do."
I pushed her away from me. When I did I noticed a knocked out Jaskier only a few paces from me. Whilst being momentarily distracted the she elf came at me hitting me in the side of the head on my temple.
I fell to my knees as she kicked my chest and I started coughing up small amounts of blood. I fell on my back as dark spots started fill my sight from the corners of my eye's. Before I completely passed out I felt someone dragging me away from were I lay.
