I could feel myself starting to wake up, but with that came a horrendous pain in my head and chest. I started to peel my eyelids open, my vision was blurry, but my hearing was good. I could hear people speaking not far from were I lay.
I tried focussing my eye's and when I did the first thing I saw was the ceiling which was made out of rock. I turned my head slowly to the side trying not to make my migraine any worse. I saw Geralt and Jaskier tied back to back still out cold. "Geralt." My voice came out as barley a whisper and I could taste blood on my lips.
I felt someone coming towards me, once they were in my line of sight I found that it was someone I didn't even know. He had long blond hair falling past his shoulders and his ears poked out from behind the blond streaks of hair, they were pointed.
He kneeled beside me and surprised me by his words. "Are you feeling alright?" His voiced seemed calm but held a slight bit of worry in it, it was actually quite nice to listen to. "Yeah. I think so." I tried sitting up but my whole body felt stiff and ached all over.
He put his hand to my back to help me sit up properly. "Are you in pain anywhere." I faced him now and answered. "My body feels stiff and I have a migraine, but I'm alright." He nodded his head and turned from me to stair at the auburn haired she elf that attached me and Geralt.
His voice seemed annoyed, but also disappointed when he spoke. "What were you trying to do, if she wasn't as strong as she is you could have killed her." The she elf stood from where she sat and spat out her next words. "She's human, they all deserve to die."
The male elf who had been helping me up till now shouted back at her. "From what Torque tells me she didn't even want to fight, and she was trying to convince her companions not to. In what world does that make it so that she should die."
She seemed to actually ponder over his words for a minute or two before eventually replying. "That doesn't stop the fact that her friends were trying to kill u,s or the fact that all three of them are still human."
To me she had a fair point, her hatred for men was well placed. During my travels I have seen what they do to creatures they don't understand and elves were a very common example.
I didn't want there fight to continue, so I interrupted what ever it was they were arguing about now. "It's ok. You have a right to hate men, but if you had just listened to me in the first place we may not be here right now, and I might not be feeling half dead."
Her look seemed to change for a breath moment to one of apology, but it went away once she spoke again. "How was I to know if you were telling the truth or not. You carry weapons and had no problem attacking me." My face went a little sour as I spoke next. "You attacked me when I told you to stop. It was self defence."
Now her face changed from one of annoyance to one of pure apology. "I apologise for my actions and any harm I've caused you, but I had my reasons." I nodded my head so she knew I accepted her apology and the male elf now spoke to me. "Toruviel has never liked men and I doubt she ever will. Her intentions are good though. Now I'm surprised you have woken before your companions, your injuries were far worse than their's. You have a strong will and your accelerated heeling seems to be a contributing factor as well."
He smiled at me before giving me some water. "I'm afraid I don't understand, accelerated healing?" His expression changed slightly to one of confusion. "No normal human could heal from wounds such as yours within less than two hours. I'm surprised you didn't know." I just shook my head and said "I didn't."
.....
I had been talking and getting to know my 'captors' and I learnt they were actually quite pleasant people to be around. The Male elf I learned was named Filavandrel and the sylvan was called Torque. It was actually Toruviel who let it slip that Filavandrel was actually an elven king.
