005 Are You Just My Distraction

- After School -
Jihye, where's Jihye? The boys round cat eyes wander around looking for the girl, she's nowhere to be seen, Jungwon gives up and walks out the school gate when there she is, but she's not alone, she's with  Sunghoon, as usual. Jungwon is confused at the sight "Oh she's close with Sunghoon?" He wants to follow them but he resists, instead he stays at school for a bit longer, he doesn't want to go home at all today, especially today.

"Come home right now. You know what today is." Sent by father just now.
With his heart feeling heavy the fragile boy sighs making his way out the door.

Jungwon walks in shyly and carefully as if he's looking for someone, and there she is, Jihye in between isles of books, Jungwon gets in the isle in front of her making sure she doesn't spot him. Before coming to the library to find Jihye he considered going home as his father commanded however he just wanted to find her, maybe just to avoid going into an un-welcoming household, maybe something more, he's not sure.

"What the hell??"
Jihye proclaims as books fall from the shelf, she walks to the other isle to see Jungwon giggling and waving awkwardly with an innocent yet mischievous expression.
"You little-" He slowly takes steps back and soon runs out the library causing the girl to chase him.
𝑻𝒘𝒐 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒏𝒂𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒌𝒊𝒅𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓
"Let's do something today" the boy says cheerfully.

They catch a train out of town, away from their worries and broken households, a place of possibilities, where they can start over 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒂𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕, jeju island.

"Stop splashing water on me Jungwon I swear!"
"We're at the beach what did you expect?"
They proceed to enjoy each other's company while sitting on the sand watching the sunset. Jungwon pulls out his phone to take a picture of the sunset, then turns his camera to the girl next to him.

"Pretty view huh?" The girl says with awe in her eyes as she stares at the colors of the sky
"Yea.. pretty" The rosy cheeked boy replied stunned at the picture he took.
( this is so cliche I'm sorry LMFAO )

The girl turns to smile at him till she sees herself on his phone screen, she smiles to herself whilst taking out her phone to take a picture of him as well causing him to look up at her, she leans closer to him taking a picture of the two of them together.

The two spent more time in silence admiring the scenery till it was time for them to face the cruel reality that we call life.

The presence of evil and all things wicked surrounded Jungwon as he walked into his palace like house, the place he hates the most with people he hates even more. Speaking of evil the being trails closer to him and slaps him on the face.
"Yang Jungwon. Do you fucking realize what we lost today because of you? How are you useless till the end?"
"Father I don't love her, nor do I want to draw her towards me for the wrong reasons"
"Why is it so hard for you to be useful for this family."

Family is supposed to be your support system, the people closest to you, the ones that know you better than you know yourself so why did everything turn into ashes with Jungwon and his so called family.

Of course their relationship wasn't always like this, everything started three years ago when Jungwon was introduced to Lee Heejung, a girl born as one of Seouls elites. This means Heejung and her family are well respected, well known, and not to mention filthy rich in Korea. Jungwon and Heejung met on forced circumstances, forced to fall in love, forced to sit down at a table and laugh at talks about marriage and their unwanted future.

Specifically his sister, Jiwon, resents Jungwon the most for not cooperating. Once Jungwon marries into a richer family than his own Jiwon will receive their parents heritage, for a while Jiwon has been treating Jungwon well, hoping he would change his mind going to the library with him, comforting him when he's torn about the situation he's put in, when in reality she loves seeing him in this state, she loves seeing him in pain so long as she gets what she believes was rightfully hers all along, power, money, and control.

What exactly was today? Today was the day the Lee family came over for dinner specifically to talk about the future both families held for Jungwon and Heejung.
