The alarm clock buzzed insistently and I reached over to slap the snooze button, squinting my eyes at the iridescent lighting. My eyelids felt heavy due to the lack of sleep but I couldn't let it consume me. Not when I had a lot on my plate.

I walk groggily to the bathroom to get ready for the day. I turn on my shower and let the hot water descend on my body. "It feels so good." I moan.

I quickly grab my shampoo, take a sufficient amount in my palms and massage my scalp. I wash my hair with the showerhead and proceed to clean my body. I then grasp my vanilla and lavender fragrance body wash apply it on my body and quickly wash it away.

I climb out of the shower and dry myself with a towel. I straighten my hair and walk into the closet to find myself clothes to wear. I grab a white silk blouse along with a black-colored fitted pencil skirt with a small slit on the side that showed a glimpse of my leg.

I walk to my dressing table and notice a pearl earring that would perfectly go with my attire. I use a little concealer under my eyes to minimize the dark circles that look awful on my pale face. I apply mascara to my dark brown eyes and a little blush to bring life to my pale cheeks. I put on nude lipstick and comb my brown hair that went up to my mid-back.

Once satisfied with my look, I spray perfume, and then, I wear my Jaeger-LeCoultre watch and a pair of heels. I take hold of my phone and keep all the belongings including the documents in the bag. I make my way to the kitchen to grab an apple and rush out of the penthouse.

I look at the beauty in my garage. My Aston Martin DB11.My heart flutters as I admire it in appreciation. I was always a fan of Aston Martin. My father would buy me anything that I put my finger on. Being a lawyer, it wasn't hard for him to meet my demands. But I always knew where to draw a line- where I knew to limit my expenses.

But my elder brother, Leonardo Blakely, as a child, was a spoilt-brat. Spoilt rotten. My mother pampered him so much. He owns a Consultancy company. He shifted to London after he found his lady love, Olivia Rivera. I don't understand what he found in her. An absolute gold digger. Our bond shattered as soon as she entered his life. It breaks my heart- but as long as he is happy, I'm happy.

I reach my company – Insight Architectures. As I make my way to the entrance, I look at John waiting for me with a coffee in his hand. I take a glance at my watch – it's 7 a.m. On-time.

"Good morning, Ms. Blakely. You have a meeting with Mr. Aaron Kingsley from A&L interiors in 30 minutes to finalize the deal. He will also be having breakfast with you. Then, you have a meeting with Mr. David Anderson at 9.30 a.m. I have sent the invites to all the companies that will be joining us today to compete for the deal." He says as he hands me the black coffee and we move towards the private elevator to reach my office.

"Thank you, John. And, please take Mr. Kingsley to meeting room 502 and arrange the next meeting with Mr. Anderson in the second-floor meeting room 102. I don't want any of my rivals to even breathe near my cabin. That's all for now. I'll call you if I need anything else." I respond as I enter my cabin and double-check all of the documents and presentations necessary for the deal.

I hear a knock at my cabin and I wonder what else does John forget to mention.

"Come in" I don't look up from the computer as I hear footsteps coming closer and wait for him to speak. "What is it, John?" I ask when I don't hear him say anything.

"Come on Lana, I expected better than that." A deep voice responds to me which I know doesn't belong to my secretary. I look up to find a pair of blue eyes staring at me with amusement dancing in them. His blond hair is disheveled and he flashes me a charmingly boyish grin which I know would make all the women swoon.

I find myself responding to his smile. I raise my eyebrows in surprise, fold my arms and sit back in the chair. He playfully copies me. "What are you doing here?" I ask him since he is 15 minutes early.

"Ouch, Sweetheart. I thought you enjoyed my company." He places a hand over his heart in mock hurt. I roll my eyes at his behavior.

"That's not it, Aaron. And you know that. I was just wondering what you were doing here 15 minutes early when you are always late to every meeting you attend." I respond to him.

"Jesus, Woman. Can I not visit my only bestest friend in the world whom I love the most?" I see him pout but I arch my eyebrow when I hear the words that just came out of his mouth.

"First of all, bestest is not even a word and I wonder what would Liam think when he would hear about your undying love for me." Liam Smith, Aaron partner-in-crime in business and life. I knew Aaron all my life we have been there for each other through thick and thin.

Aaron met his boyfriend Liam at the University of California where both of them studied Interior designing and now, they own A&L interiors. Liam is a sweetheart whereas Aaron is a lot more playful. I met Liam when he visited my family on Christmas with Aaron and I knew that he was perfect for Aaron. And, I love both of them with all of my heart.

"You wouldn't do that and Liam trusts me." I hear him and I shake my head with a hint of a smile.

"I thought since we discussed the deal with all our directors and now that the papers are ready, we sign the final contract, and then we have our breakfast." He hands me the contract. I carefully read all the terms and conditions and notice that Aaron had already signed it. After I thoroughly go through the contract and when I do not notice any loopholes, I grab a pen to sign the documents.

I smirk at him and he responds to me with a smile and shakes his head. He knows what's going on in my head. I find it quite amusing when I don't have to tell him anything and he understands my intention.

I hear a knock on my door and permit the person on another side to enter.

"Ms. Blakely, I bought breakfast. Shall I place it on the coffee table?" I nod at him in response. I move towards the table, Aaron follows me.

I grab the coffee and hand Aaron the other.

"Cheers to the destruction," I say as I clink our coffee mugs together.

"Cheers." He responds as he takes a sip.
