My cell phone vibrates on the table but, I ignore it. I have no energy left to deal with people. I'm done for the day. It incessantly buzzes and I ignore the irritation bubbling in my chest. I pick up my phone ready to put that on airplane mode but, I notice Aaron's picture on display. I answer it knowing very well that he wouldn't stop going unless I answer it. Stubborn bastard.

"Hello Aaron" I answer the call.

"Hey, Sweetheart. We are going to "The Elites" tonight. Wear something sexy, I'll pick you up in 30." He says that in one go and hangs up on me.

I look at the phone in my hand in astonishment. What just happened?

I try to call him but it goes straight to voicemail. What the-

I rub my forehead and inhale deeply to calm my nerves.

I walk to my closet and look for something to wear. The Elites, the club is only for people who have diamond membership. The anonymous owner sends the invites to riches and nobody can try to get it otherwise. I got my membership three years ago but I haven't been there ever. But I know how it usually is.

I notice a teal-colored sequin color that would reach mid-thigh. I hum in approval and grab a pair of heels and a clutch. I quickly shower and get into the dress. I look it into the mirror and I appreciate how pale my back looks in the deep neck and the color perfectly suits my skin. I go for little eye make-up and bold lips and wavy hair. For the love of God, I couldn't do makeup.

But I still manage to look presentable.

I wear my heels and keep my card and the lipstick that I am wearing in the clutch. I hear my doorbell ring and I walk out of the room and open the front door.

"Hey" I look into the dark eyes of Liam.

"Hello, where's Aaron?" I ask.

"He says and I quote, I do not have the patience to park the car. Please inform Lana I am dying to see her." I shake my head as I lock the door and walk out.

We reach the parking lot and a sleek black car awaits us. Liam opens the back door for me and gets into the passenger seat.

"Woah! Damn" Aaron whistles.

"Why are we going to Elites?" I raise my eyebrow at him.

"What do you mean, why Lana? Of course, we are going to celebrate our first victory." He states.

I nod and look at the scenery through the window and release a breath to calm my racing mind. I cannot fathom, why do I always think about things so damn much? My mind is always aware and alert of the things that happen. I am unable to enjoy and live in the moment. I achieve something, in the next moment, it has some other things to plan.

"We're here" Liam smiles at me. I respond and get down from the car. I do not wait for people to do things for me. A woman should never expect people to hold the door for her she should be capable enough to kick the door open whenever necessary.

Aaron throws the car keys at the valet and comes to my side.

"Are you ready?" I nod at him and we enter the club. I feel many eyes as we walk inside.

"Why are people looking at us?" I inquire.

"Because, Lana Blakely who never visits any club is here, looking like a goddess," Aarons smirks at me.

"Agree" I hear Liam speak. I shake my head and we walk towards a booth at the corner away from the prying eyes.

I sit back and look at the dance floor. I notice people swaying to the beat and letting their guard down. Sometimes, people need to let go and live a little.

"What would you like to order?" I notice a waitress batting her eyelashes at the boys, I try to hide my smile. No one would ever think that these hunks aren't interested in women.

"Ask our lovely Lana, What would she like?" Aaron states blankly.

She looks at me and screeches, " Oh my Gosh, I didn't see you there. What would you like to have?"

I roll my eyes at her and responds "Water"

She looks at me as if I've grown another head, "Um, Okay."

Yes, I do not drink.

Aarons order a Whiskey on the rocks and Liam goes for Dirty Martini.

We indulge in conversation and clink our glasses together to celebrate our first victory. Aaron finishes his drink in one go.

I look at Liam as I raise my hand and bend my fingers one by one.

"One"

"Two"

"Three"

"Fo-

"Lana, do you know what they call a fish that wears a bowtie?" Aarons slurs.

I shake my head at him.

"Sofishticated." He burst into laughter at his joke. I watch Liam as he looks at Aaron in amusement and takes a sip of his drink.

"I asked my dog what's two minus two? He said nothing."

"You don't have a dog, Aaron."

"I do, he lives in my head."

"Did you hear the rumor about butter?"

"Um, No" I respond and wait for him to speaks. He comes closer and cups both of his near his mouth and says, " I'm not gonna spread it."

Liam and I look at each other and chuckle.

I feel eyes on me and I look at the figure sitting opposite to me and stiffen.

He wears a white button-down and dark trousers. Few buttons of his shirt undone, legs spread wide. He had his sleeves rolled up and a few silver chains on his neck. He looks at me and gulps his drink, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down. I maintain eye contact with him as I reach for the ice cube on the table. I take one in my mouth and suck without breaking our staring contest. He gulps.
