I could have sworn on my own beating heart I meant something

I know what I saw and what I felt

When I made a silly joke and your lips curved up just enough to make a smirk

A smile, yes that is what you did

You smiled and you smiled over and over

I did that, I made that happen

That meant everything to me

I knew it was real ,I knew I made you feel those feelings you feel

The feeling you felt

I'm not sure they're there anymore

We'd stay up at night and sometimes talk

Hell, sometimes just lay next to eachother and say nothing at all

And that was my favorite

Staring back at eachother,smiling just because

Because we felt like for once we belonged here

For once I didn't question or wonder why life was so great

For once I let someone in who could, would,maybe,possibly break me

But no

In my head, that wasn't even a possibility

I would sit there in silence sometimes and watch you ramble on about how much you hate society and the cruelness of reality

And in my crazy mixed up world i realized you were part of it

Not even sure what that meant

Or what you meant to me

I just knew I had to keep it

Hold it close and never leave it

It was something that made me feel alive

It made me feel like I was somebody

I was someone to you

And that feeling, it felt amazing

I want to be the one you never get tired of seeing

I wish you'd trust the feelings you were feeling

I miss it, I miss us

I don't even know if there was an us

Whatever it was, it was working

It was working for me
