I could feel the sharp pinpricks of fangs at my neck. A blindfold overshadows my eyes. I don't dare make a sound. A gag was shoved down my mouth, sturdy rope cinching my wrists behind a chair. My ankles and knees were cuffed to the legs of the chair. My midsection was bound as well to the back of the chair to ensure I wouldn't escape. I tug the ropes and feel the sting of the scrapes it caused. The dreary burn of the rope dug into my stomach. The incisors disappear.
My world starts to tip and lurch. The remembering fear seeps into me, blood rushes to my ears and it makes me lightheaded. The chair topples and plunges to the ground. My head socks the wood of the floor, then bobs up again and cracks against the head of the chair. Baby ragged breaths leave me and I count them. Counting kept me sane, it calms me. One breath. Two breath. Three, four, five breath. Jagged pricked teeth pierce the soft flesh of my neck and I cry out pleadingly. It rips and tears and my skin and I scream. The pain ignites in my blood, in my movement. I fear for my death. I start begging for it stop, fire smoulders and sizzles at my fingertips. I growl, thrashing for escape.
"Stop. IT! Stop, LET GO OF ME! STOP!" I screech, the torment absolutely agonizing. My pleas are muffled because of the stupid gag. The torture stop and the vampire jerks from me. Watery liquid plummet on my neck, on my fingers. The blindfold is removed and I breathe out a sigh of relief. My sight blurs coming into focus like a camera would. The spectacle that greets me makes me horrified. My eyes are glowing moons and I shake my head trying to spit out the gag that is jammed down my throat. I choke on it, spluttering on my saliva.
Axel's beautiful dark brown curly hair is spilled on the floor. His lifeless eyes stare back at me, the light gone from them. His wrists are matted with dried blobs of blood. He barely breathes - not that he needs to. Only tiny pants that makes his chest rise and falls indicates he's the slightest bit alive. He coughs, and blinks his dark brownish honey eyes. "Rose." He croaks. I want to so desperately help him. I flail my arms, struggling to get loose. A foot calcitrates at his side and Axel convulses, using his elbows to get up and the foot kicks with such force again, Axel drops to the ground panting. I clamp and grind my teeth together in frustration. Tears try to dampen my eyes but furiously I blink them away. I am tired of begging and pleading for someone who won't listen.
Axel stops moving, his body still. My tongue finally pushes the gag out. I suck in a breath. "Axel!" I shout his name, my voice is cacophonous - echoing in the room. My mouth is as dry as sandpaper and as gritty. I pull at the rope and wince. My hands are scraped now, trickling blood from the wounds. The girl ran towards me, hunger deep in her garnet eyes. "No, no!" I cry out, struggling to the point where it hurts too much to move. "Axel, Axel...Get up!" I urge. I shove my weight to one direction. The chair tilts, smacking to the left side facing away from Axel. Now I'm exposing my hands to the bloodthirsty vampire. I start to roll and hop towards Axel. I threw my weight forward, closer to Axel. The girl licks her dirtied chapped lips. I curse for the first time in my life. "Dammit! Axel, drink my blood. Oh, come on. Wake up already."
I press my finger to his lips. Slowly, his tongue flickers, licking the blood off my fingers. He opens his blood-red eyes. Finally, sealing the cut, he sighs. He closes his eyes and I panic. "Axel, Axel!" I hiss, nudging him with my chair. In annoyance, he breaks the chair, chips of wood flying everywhere. He roars deep in his throat, ripping the rope off me. I wrap my arms around his neck, hugging him. I am afraid for both of us. He brings a hand down, knotting his hand in my hair. I feel safer in his arms. Axel gets up, staggering to his feet. None of us anticipated for the girl to lung at us once more, fangs first. "Axel, get us out of here." I say, tugging him towards the door.
He twists the doorknob and accidentally breaks it. He sighs and punches the door frame, shattering it. He stumbles and I have difficulty holding us both up. The girl hisses, clawing at us. Axel grabs me in his arms and jumps, making a loud thud sound on the landing. I think for a second. She isn't advancing towards us, so maybe she can't leave the room. She tests her foot out the door and hisses then, following us.
Or maybe she could.
Axel concentrates, and throws me over his shoulder, jumping. I bounce from the impact of the fall. When he looks up, his eyes are now glowing. He snarls at her, growling fiercely. He puts me behind him and roars at her, having a hand on me protectively. I'm in awe, but I shake my head to clear any thoughts of his protectiveness towards me. I grab his waist, tugging. "Shh! Axel, we'll get out. We really don't have time, just leave her alone. Yes, come on." I say, gently. I pull him away, surprised on how easy that was. Axel stops and spun around to face me. His lips are on mine and he roughly tugs my bottom lip. I moan, tugging his curly hair.
He gathers me in his arms and runs away from her. I coud hear the girl's screams. Then I could hear nothing. Absolutely nothing. Axel carries me into his room and shuts the passageway. It seals close. He staggers, trying to hold me, but too weak to do so. I crawl out of his arms and pull him on the bed. I secure the blanket on him and he shuts his eyes, sighing. I kiss his cheek and slowly creep towards the door. "I'll find R." I tell him, closing the door.
...
"R! R, where are you?" I call out, wandering in the mansion. He must be dead sick worried. OR maybe he's mad. Yeah, I think he's mad. I sigh, giving up on finding him. I'm tired and a bit dizzy too. It strikes me as odd to be dizzy but I guess it's because of that stupid vampire trying to tear apart my neck. I touch it and wince. The area is sore and painful. I walk back to my room, thinking that maybe rest will help.
The windows were ajar, a draft blasting the curtains back. And there stood R, arms crossed in annoyance over his chest.
"Nice of you to join me." He says and I gulp.
