2-the first day

Effy's POV~

Once I am out of the car. I open the boot of the car and grab my suitcase and pull it behind me up to the front of the beautiful house. Pulling my suitcase up the stairs I wait patiently as Terri opens the door letting it open slowly. I see two blobs of fur bolting towards me, feeling the feeling of dogs paws on my legs. I lower my gaze to see two dogs.

"That's Piggy and Stella," Robert says quietly, grabbing my bag from my hand and taking it into the house. I kneel down and stroke the dogs gently, letting them get used to my scent before entering the house with them trailing behind me.

I am in awe as I look around at the gorgeous minimal decoration in the house. Straight ahead is a beautiful open plan kitchen, to the left is a gorgeous living room with a comfortable looking sofa and a huge TV on the wall. I follow Terri into the kitchen while Robert kindly takes my bag up to my room for me. Me and Terri have a conversation about things I can do during my stay.

"You can decorate your room however you like as I'm sure when the world goes back to normal your parents would allow you to come and stay with us for a while, it would be nice for you to have some familiarity while you are here." Terri commented when I mentioned decorating my room a little bit.

"Thank you so much Terri, I really appreciate you doing all of this for me and making room in your lives for me" I say appreciatively. I hear footsteps walking down the stairs behind me and turn my head to see who it is. My eyes bore into Robert's sky blue ones and I feel my heart start to beat a bit faster.

"Would you like me to show you to your room Elizabeth?" Robert enquired.

" Oh please call me Effy, Elizabeth is too formal for me, and of course that would be lovely thank you." I insist.

Roberts POV~

I lead the way up the stairs and open the door opposite mine and slowly enter the room and hold the door open for Effy. She slowly walks into the room and spins in a circle before lying down on the bed and sighing. "Hey Rob? Would mind grabbing my Young Dumb Thrills hoodie out of my backpack along with my spiderman build a bear please?" She asks sleepily. I nod and grab the items out of her backpack walking over to the bed and handing them to her, ignoring the way my heart beat a little faster when she called me Rob.

I turn to make my way downstairs when she sleepily calls my name. I turn around to face her. "Thank you for adjusting your life to welcome me, and for being so kind to me. I have a feeling we are going to be good friends." Effy remarks with a sleepy smile.

"Of course Effy, I'm sure you would do the same if the roles were reversed." I reassure her. She gives me a nod and sits up pulling the hoodie over her head and pulling the sleeves over her hands before grabbing the bear and snuggling back down into the bed. Closing her eyes. "I will come and wake you when dinner is ready." I say softly before walking out of her room, closing the door softly.

I carefully jog down the stairs and walk into the living room, seeing mum sitting on the sofa. "Effy is asleep in her room, let me know when dinner is done and I can go and wake her up." I inform mum. " Okay I will let you know when dinner is ready. Thank you for being so kind to Effy. I know this must be difficult for you to adjust to." Mum replies. I nod and walk out into the backyard where the dogs are play fighting with each other.

I lay myself down on the soft grass and watch the clouds go by. Thinking. Thinking about Effy. Her bright blue eyes, her long brown hair, her unique dress sense, the softness of her voice as she speaks and finally her smile. The soft smile she gave me when she saw me, it made my heart race and I have no idea why. I let out a sigh and slowly trail my left hand over the tattoo on my right wrist. I wonder when I am going to meet my soulmate. What will they be like? Will we get along? Will she make me happy? Will I make her happy? I think back to the time when Bindi found out Chandler was her soulmate, she was over the moon. I hope finding my soulmate makes me that happy.
