In all his years of working at his mom's bakery, Percy never had someone come in to investigate the place. And he's certainly never seen someone as hot as the detective that walked into the quaint little shop. The blonde seemed to be around his age, just out of college, mid twenties and such.

"Hello, sir. Do you work here?" The blonde asked. Percy looked down at his apron and his name tag. For a detective, the dude wasn't that bright.

"No, I'm just a stranger who decided to work on a Saturday and steal an apron. Yes, I work here, it's my mom's shop." Percy probably shouldn't have been sarcastic to an officer but it's instinct.

The detective chuckled, the faint scar on his lips lifting. "Sorry, I guess that was an obvious question. Can I speak to your manager regarding a case of mine?" Percy was tempted to turn around, walk out, and just pop out saying 'You rang?' but that would be unprofessional.

So Percy just settled saying, "You're talking to him. But could you possibly come back when my shift is over? It ends in about an hour." The detective checked his watch, "I guess I can wait in here since I have nothing else to do."

Percy never even got the dude's name.

An hour had passed and Jason was getting bored. Sure the place was okay but he had left his phone at home because it was distracting on cases. So he basically just stared at a wall for an hour, people were starting to give him looks. Mainly the manager. Though those looks were different than the others.

He's cute. A voice in the back of his head spoke. Shut up. Jason thought as the manager—Jason discovered his name was Percy—checked his watch for the 3452168th time, but now, Percy walked off into the back room.

But when someone walked out, it wasn't Percy. The dude looked like the people Jason investigate, in other words, he didn't look sober. Jason didn't want to judge people too much but he took a note of the guy—apparently his name is Tim.

"I'm ready." Jason jumped in his seat and turned to see Percy laughing hysterically. "Dude, you good?" Percy managed to choke out in his fit of laughter.

"I'm fine, let's get this over with." Jason mumbled as Percy lead him to the office.

"So what seems to be the problem?" Percy asked once they were both seated.

"My captain gave me a case regarding drugs in the area and it's suspected that they're being smuggled here." Percy's eyes widened in shock, obviously not expecting that this was the reason a detective was here.

"Oh gods. Drugs?" Well, Jason could cross the manager of the list. The kid looked downright terrified, not of being suspected, but because drugs are involved. "I-I think I know who's doing it, but you can't tell him I told you."

"And why's that?" Jason didn't want to push because he knows what PTSD looks like. This kid has obviously been on the wrong side of someone doing drugs.

"Because I don't want him to come find me or something. Just- It's Tim. He's been working here for about two months. Not once has he showed up on time or looking decent. I tried not to assume the worse but the dude scared the customers." Jason could hear the anger and pain in his voice.
