November 3 1945,

I gained great friends from both genders, but I was still lonely. Romance was the last requirement to have my life fulfilled. At least, on the bright side, Faith and Clyde separated, so I got a slight relief. No, I don't mean to celebrate the sad incident, but I have few couples to be jealous of. 3 months after my loneliness, I met Luisa, a girl from Houston, Texas. As usual, I was going to my locker surrounded by couples until she approached me.

"Hi", she greeted.

"Hi", I replied.

"My name is Luisa West. What's yours?"

"Alfonso Costra"

"It sounds Italian", Luisa commented.

"It is Italian", I confirmed. "I migrated from Italy few months ago"

"Do you have a green card?", she asked.

"Yes", I answered. "How about you? I had never seen you during the previous months"

"I just moved here last week", she said.

"Where are you from?", I asked.

"Houston. Do you have a girlfriend?"

"No"

"Great, I never had a boyfriend, and I am tired of being lonely. I never had a boyfriend in Houston, so I assured myself I'll have my first in New York"

"Wow, I mean I also never had a girlfriend in Italy", I replied.

"Great! Let's be a couple now"

"Sure"

The next thing I knew was she kissed me. Then, the bell rang.

"What class do you have?", Luisa asked.

"Geology", I answered. "How about you?"

"Geometry. I'll see you at the cafeteria"

"Sure"

Alas, I got an American girlfriend!

After Robert finished reading the diary, he closed it; he stood and stretched himself. I think I know why they never got along throughout their marriage, he theorized. Also, I think I know the lesson Sigñore Alfonso Costra is trying to teach me: Learn from Their Pity Sake, he added.
