Miranda
Andy ran in with a boy.
She had her Firefighter jacket wrapped around him.
"You have to save him. I didn't just run 20 miles in five minutes for no reason."
Meredith took the boy from Andy.
"Can I—"
"Yeah. Take it. I can burrow Dad's for the time being. And whoever has a problem with it, can suck it."
I laughed at her bluntness.
"He's my Dad, not theirs. It's not their decision."
Robert
I was tracking Andy.
She was at the hospital.
Andy
I went home.
I brought Dad's Firefighter jacket out of my side of the closet.
I warned Robert not to ever touch my clothes.
It still smelt like him.
I slid Dad's Firefighter jacket on.
I zipped it up.
Robert
Andy was at our house.
She warned me not to ever touch her clothes.
I found it ridiculous since Andy doesn't have an organized system.
But I made the promise not to touch them.
Andy
I headed back to 19.
Robert
Everybody except me stared at Andy.
That included Lawrence, Snuffy, and Irwin.
"It definitely suits you, Little Herrera."
"I remembered the incident. A reason why I told him not to move my clothes."
"What do you think I was gonna do with it? Toss it?"
I wrapped my arms around Andy.
You could still smell Pruitt on it.
"You thought I'd wash it."
"Mm-hmm."
"No. It's not mine to do that."
She leaned back against me.
"I like it. You were the Hero today, not me."
"I just made the call Dad would've."
"Yeah."
We all headed to the hospital.
"Delgado?"
I knew it was the kid we saved.
His parents stood up.
"Lieutenant Herrera ran 20 miles in five minutes to save your son. She had stenched the bleeding with her Firefighter jacket. He's gonna be fine."
"Which one of you is Lieutenant Herrera?"
"I am."
Andy grunted as the Mom hugged her tightly.
She hugged her back.
"He's gonna be fine. It was actually an incident of mine that reminded me of this route to the hospital. The fastest way on foot."
Andy broke the hug.
"Are you a Mom?"
"No. I'm not a Mom. Not yet, at least."
"Her husband is being an asshole about it."
Maya groaned as Andy elbowed her.
"Well, I hope one day you are."
"Mm-hmm."
His parents walked away with Meredith.
"I did not use those words."
"She didn't have to."
