Chapter 9: lady.

"When you're looking at me, I've never felt so happy."

"Britney, hey," May said, as the redhead girl smiled at her. Celine despises Hanan's best friend, Britney, and claims she would rather tolerate a dementor than her.

"Jai, look who I found," Britney said to Jairus, one of Hanan's best friends. Jairus approaches them with his curly brown hair, light blue eyes that remind May of the ocean, towering height, and intimidating aura, but if you get to know him, you'll see how soft he is.

Hanan is standing behind him; May frowned upon seeing her sister; she believed she was at the family gathering, but she wasn't. Hanan's gaze shifted to her sister, astonishment visible in her dark brown eyes; she had no idea that her sister was also not present at the family gathering.

Hanan has always been stunning since they were kids; it was her eyes that captivated you, her smile, laugh, nose, face, voice, everything. And May has always been insecure to her, because as someone a year younger than her, she's always been compared to her, long before Celine entered their lives.

"May." Hanan smiled at her sister, who responded with a forceful smile as she looked at her husband, who was already staring at his ex. She felt a knot in her gut; she despised how readily her husband became star-struck over his ex.

May turned away from her husband and went to Jairus, who was already beaming at her. "Hi, love," Jairus spoke as he approached her, wrapping his arm around her shoulder and embracing her, drawing Harry's attention to them.

Harry's jaw clenched at the sight of Jairus hugging his wife; he remembered how much Jairus was a flirt back at Hogwarts; he's also the heartthrob alongside Cedric, since they're not known as the 'Hufflepuff heartthrob.' And Jairus referred May as "love" even after she began dating Kyle.

"If Kyle is here, I feel like he already murdered me for hugging his girlfriend, so it's a good thing he hasn't here yet," Jairus chuckles as he withdraws their embrace. "Well, you two get back together, right?" He gave her an optimistic expression; he always ships them together, Kyle is part of their group, and it's always been the four of them—Kyle, Jairus, Britney, and Hanan.

"My sister is married," Hanan remarked, widening Jairus and Britney's eyes. The two had no idea Harry and May were in an arrange marriage because they left after their seventh year and did not return at their eighth year, unlike Kyle and Hanan.

There is an eighth year at Hogwarts, but it is optional for everyone, and you still graduate in the seventh year; they just take there to enhance their understanding of the career they are pursuing, and they would allow them work part-time so they could gain experience. That's why it was so easy for Harry to pursue Hanan while he and May were in seventh year; Hanan was constantly there, only an inch away because she's in Gryffindor, which is Harry's advantage, always sleeping there in hopes of talking to her.

Even though Harry and May were the head girl and boy that year, he rarely slept in their dorm and instead went to the Gryffindor common room. May chuckles bitterly every time she remembers that, as she never forgets that Harry and Hanan would not be dating if it weren't for her help.

"You and Kyle got married?" Britney gasped. "I didn't even get an invitation?" She crossed her arms, seeming to be upset that she hadn't received an invitation. Britney and Jairus were meant to be invited, but they left Scotland when Hanan and Kyle went to Hogwarts for eighth year.
