Chapter 12: Call.
"Sumabay sa agos na isinulat ng tadhana."
(Follow the flow written by destiny.)━━━━━━♡♥♡━━━━━━
May has been alone for four days while Harry is still on the mission; he will return in a few days. The notion of it excites her far more than seeing the moon in the night sky.
The two of them haven't properly communicated, which May understands and accepts. They seldom text, only wishing each other a good morning, and she knows that he needs to focus on his mission.
When Harry is on a mission, they barely contact and call each other, and it pained May how she would wait for a call or text from him since she doesn't want to make a move for fear of disturbing him.
She's currently in her office, the ones she had at her coffee shop. It's neither big nor small, but it's spacious enough for all of her belongings, and having a small office makes it easy to clean and find what you're looking for.
May had been checking her phone continually for the past hour, hoping to receive a message from him, but she had received nothing, not even a period.
She wonders if he's okay. Was he wounded as a result of their mission? Who is he currently spending his time with? Caelum? Jairus? Althea? Britney? or Hanan?
It's already four-forty pm, and she'll be alone in their bed again in a few minutes, perhaps waiting for a text or call from him.
She misses him, she misses seeing those emerald eyes that comfort her, the eyes that she can't help but drown in, and his smile that could light up the entire galaxy, his voice that sounded like the rhythm of her favorite song, and his laugh that is as soothing as the waves of the ocean.
Mayari misses her husband more than anything else; she wishes she could see him and tell him how her heart has always been yearning for the other one, but she lacks the courage to do so.
When she begins to like Harry she cursed the universe for being cruel, how she was the only one who felt this way while he was madly in love with another girl, and not just any other girl, but her sister.
But, as time went, she learned to understand that not everything we desire is for us; it may be someday, but it may be in another life as well. She began to envision Harry as her moon, a moon she had been admiring from afar as it shone with the sky and stars.
A sound from her phone jolted her out of her reverie, her eyes widening in surprise, and her heart fluttering with joy. An incoming call from Harry is displayed on her phone, and she answers it instantly out of excitement.
"Hey, darling," Harry said from the other side. "How are you? I'm sorry I only called today; I was busy with the mission, but it's fine now that we have a break. Are you still at your shop?"
"I'm fine, how about you?" inquires May. "I'm still in my shop, I'd be out any minute, and do you want to rest? You must be exhausted."
She wants to talk to him, but she doesn't want him to be weary. He just had a break from their mission, and he could need to sleep after such a long day.
"I'm good, darling," he replied. "I'm actually resting, and please be careful when apparating; lock the door when you get home, as well as the window, and when someone knocks, don't open it; instead, watch it from the window."
