Alone at sea

Greg: cmon s'noo ball!

Steven: coming dad!

"Right this way lapis."

Lapis: ok

She starts holing onto my hand.

I lead her to the ship that Greg rented.

Steven: taa daa! See? We even named it the lil' lappy!

A cardboard sigh of lappy falls of of the boat. Lapis starts to laugh

Lapis:ok let's go!

She pulls me gently onto the ship

Greg: let's go!

He honks the horn and the boat starts moving.

Timeskip

We are all having fun steering the boat and honking the horn until Greg starts fishing.

Lapis: what are you doing?

Greg: I'm fishing!

Lapis:what's that?

Greg: it's where you catch fish.

Lapis: I can help with that!

She starts to lift up all of the fish in the area that Greg put his bait in.

Greg: that's an awful fancy way of fishing. Umm, I think I'll just stay to the old way.

Lapis: oh. Ok.

She lifts the fish down.

"It's ok lapis."

Lapis: thanks.

She holds my hand softly.

Greg: you try lapis.

He holds out the rod to lapis, which she takes and takes Greg's place.

Greg: now when you feel a tug you reel it in.

Lapis nods.

"Now we wait."

20 minutes later

Nothing

43 minutes later.

Lapis was loosely holding the rod but then I saw the rod move forward a little bit.

"I think you gotta bite!"

Greg:pull!

Lapis literally try's to go to the end of the boat to catch the fish but she is stuck there with the rod: struggling with the force of the string.

"I think you should let go.

Lapis doesn't listen and pulls harder

"Lapis!"

I hug her from behind and start pulling her.

"Pull!"

We start pulling even harder until the line brakes. But so does the pole.

Greg: aww. This rod rental has turned into a rod purchase.

I let go of lapis and jump off the boat.

Once I jump down I see a orange and red figure near me.

"Hello?"

The red figure starts running towards me. Out of instinct I jump on the boat again.

Lapis: are you ok y/n?

"Nope! There's something down there-"

The boat makes an explosion sound coming from the bottom of the ship.

Then a hand appears at the end of the boat.

Japer: my dīæmœnd. I have returned at your service.

"Lookin jasper I don't know what whatever you just said was but I assure you I'm not that."

'I've gotta get peridot to help me with that'

Jasper gets on her knees

Jasper: please my dïæmœnd! Forgive me!

"Ok, ok! Just, get up. It's weird!"

Jasper gets up paying full attention to me

Jasper: yes my dïæmœnd!

"Steven!"

Steven looks at me

Steven: yeah?

"Ask pearl what a... a diamond is?"

My eye starts to sting a little bit.

Steven nods and I walk up to jasper. Steven and lapis tense up.

"Look jasper. I know we haven't always seen eye to eye but I assure you. I have no hard feelings. But if you could. Could you please stop bothering lapis?"

Jasper looks at me with admiration

Jasper: of course my diamond!

She jumps off the boat.

"Also stop calling me you diamond! I don't know what that is!"

My eye hurts again. Not as much but still stings a little.

Lapis: thanks y/n.

She hugs me.

"No problem lapis, it's what friends do."

Lapis:yeah.... Friends....

"Something wrong?"

Lapis: nothing!

Greg: looks like this boat rental turned into a purchase..
