CHAPTER 3
Draco couldn’t remember when he’d ever felt this nervous. His genius father Lucius just did something that really ticked off the Dark Lord.
Draco then remembered June 6th, one day after his birthday. He turned 16 and had to face that dreadful initiation ceremony.
Draco always strived to be that perfect son, a son Lucius Malfoy would be proud of. For a couple of years Draco did everything right. Curse and spit upon mudbloods left and right, relieve that oaf Hagrid of his job, and make the golden trio’s lives’ hell.
But then Lucius committed some mistakes. Suddenly everything was Draco’s fault, Draco couldn’t do anything right. His father was ashamed.
But to prove how loyal he really was, he became a death eater much to his father’s delight. That’s what Draco was aiming for anyways.
In the grand hall in the Malfoy Manor, Lord Voldemort and his faithful servants all in a circle around the dark lord.
The lights were dim except for the exceptionally detailed chandeliers hanging in the prestigious hall.
The dark lord was sitting in a throne-like chair adorned with jewels.
All the death eaters wore their masks.
In the dim light, the dark lord seemed to be emitting a pale malignant light. Draco was both excited, scared, and bewildered for what was about to occur.
Pure adrenaline coursed through the young man’s veins and that alone pushed him forward.
Lord Voldemort silently studied the victim with his merciless eyes.
“Draco Malfoy, Son of Lucius, One of my most devoted followers. So diligently he followed me. Will you do the same?”
The Dark Lord challenged the boy. But Draco was ready. He would prove them all wrong.
“Yes, my lord. I will follow you.”
The dark lord studied the boy with new eyes for a minute.
The dark lord smiled. He was pleased.
“So willing to please, Draco. If only your father were the same.”
The dark lord said with a wicked grin.
“Come!” He gracefully launched himself out of his ornately decorated throne and swiftly reached Draco.
The dark lord went to the middle of the circle and Draco followed.
With a casual yet fluid flick of his wand a highly tasteful table and chair appeared with parchments, ink and a phoenix feathered quill.
“You, all of you, my most devoted followers, death eaters, are witness to the initiation ceremony, where we open our arms to another in our destructive wake: Draco Malfoy.”
He said charismatically.
“Everyone, make your presence known.” And with a wave of his hands. In a quick and orderly fashion all death eaters one by one came and wrote their names, along with their signature.
“And now, for the oath.” He said in his chilling high voice.
The dark lord set his eyes onto Draco.
Draco silently prayed he wouldn’t disappoint.
“Repeat after me, I, Draco Malfoy, Son of Lucius and Narcissa Black Malfoy, will join the ranks of death eaters. I will follow orders without hesitation. I will treat those below me how they should be treated. I will not stop until muggles and mudbloods are eliminated from magical society. I will follow lord voldemort and eradicate any threats towards us and pureblood society.”
Draco suprising himself and the dark lord repeated the oath with a firm and steady voice.
Satisfied, the dark lord then lifted his wand and whispered:
“This might hurt a bit.”
A wicked grin and a flash of pain.
Draco sighed and vigorously rubbed his left arm where the dark mark sat on his muscular arm. He wouldn’t want to witness another initiation ceremony.
But to make it even worse he would have to mentor the girl.
He snorted, he wasn’t a child minder, bloody hell, he thought.
If she was 16 why on earth would she need mentoring?
But, then again, the way Snape described the girl, he was so proud to have done something of the highest honor for the dark lord. He wouldn’t have made any mistake.
The girl would have to be brilliant.
From Snape’s description, if anyone was fit to be Voldemort’s heir, it would be her. Ivory was it?
The dark lady. He snorted in disdain.
Draco smirked, why not have fun with it? Why not test the heir of Voldemort, she was bound to get worse.
Suddenly the idea of mentoring Ivory didn’t seem so horrible.
