Chapter 15: A Web of Lies

Ivory woke hours later; reluctant to leave the berth of warmth. Her eyes remained closed despite being awake for nigh an hour.

She reveled in the feeling of contentment. And though her eyes had been resolutely shut she knew her mouth was quirked in a slight smile.

She also knew the moment her feet touched the ground she would have to be Voldemort’s daughter once more and must bear everything that came with the title “The Dark Lady”.

Ivory let her thoughts wander until they settled on the young man who now stayed within the Manor. She shot up, eyes wide open and with a kick of adrenaline replacing the earlier feeling of laziness and contentment.

Arlo.

She smiled and felt her fingertips go to her lips once more. But she shook off the reaction immediately. How immature could she get? Feeling disgusted with herself she got up with a feeling of resignation, and to scrub away whatever it was she felt for him.

 Damn that’s a shiny bathroom.

Arlo studied the expanse with a critical eye, pouted lip and cupped cheek.

“Yep. That’ll do, thank you very much Drippy.”

The house-elf after bowing low and squeaking an appraisal of the young master’s modesty vanished.

Arlo sighed and proceeded to sit on the counter observing the delicate looking hand soap sitting pretty.

“Bloody hell.” He murmured looking at the docile object with apprehension. He was currently resisting the urge to poke at it, because clearly, that wasn’t done.

A knock sounded at the door, and he looked up from his preoccupation with curiosity. He should expect it to be Severus, but he wished fervently that it was Ivory.

And boy was he lucky.

His sumptuous mouth formed a smirk once he opened the bathroom door.

“Yes, you must be here to see the bed. We should try it out sooner rather than later, yes?” He replied stoically, while gesturing to the aforementioned object with his hand.

Her full lips threatened to curl, as she looked down and conceded with a smirk.

“You caught me!” She proclaimed and turned her watchful eye through the room.

“Yes, well it was rather obvious, darling.” He said while training his eyes on her.

Ivory’s eyes burned brighter than usual as she looked at him for a second, and then quickly looked away.

His lips twitched, “You like what I’ve done with the place?”

She answered with a non-committal sort of sound.

“Ah, the silent type are we?” He prodded, while studying her rather tall but slender frame.

A faint blush graced her delicate features, accentuating the natural redness of her lips. And adding color to her otherwise lovely alabaster skin.

Her impossibly black tresses flowed in thick healthy waves, and she dressed rather simply.

He adored the classy green cardigan she wore that looked to be a piece of art, the way it was embroidered it had to be designer. A white lacy cami underneath it, a pair of skinnies most likely designer and a bracelet: yet another work of art.
