When Alyssa and I got back to the port every beast-folk there thanked the two of us. I had broken the spell in the courtyard so everyone there could see that the war was over. Word of our success had traveled fast. Once we got back, everyone was there to greet us. Sometime later, news of the third-born prince taking the throne reached us, and his oldest brother became his advisor. Arsidian's mood gradually got better. Each domain recovered from its losses and over time they grew even closer than they ever had in the past.

It seemed Alyssa's words left an impression on everyone. Not only did people look at her differently, but me as well. The rest of our pregnancies went by smoothly as well. Alyssa had twin girls, as I had a boy and a girl. Two of the three girls were demi-human, the third was an elf like me, as for the boy he was a demi-human.

Elise and Mira were thrilled when the children were born. Arsidian was happy too. For a while though, he had a somber look on his face and I had a feeling why. Amber had to have been pregnant as well, so he not only lost his wife but their unborn child as well. I never brought up the subject, and neither did the rest of us.

What awaited us in the future was unknown, but we looked forward to it nonetheless. Alyssa and I walked hand in hand towards a future we set for ourselves. Each and every one of us had something to hold on to, and we'd fight for it. Once Arsidian got used to his leg not working, he got back to work. If I had to guess, it was a way for him to keep himself busy, so he didn't think about Amber.
