Chapter 6

Kai's POV

"Hyung, do we have to shoot right away or I could rest first?" I asked my manager the moment we arrived at the hotel here in Hawaii.

"You can have the day to yourself. We'll be starting tomorrow. Here are the concept of the shoot by the way. And call me if you need anything, I'll be in the room besides yours. " He then said and went out of the room.

I flopped into the bed and looked at the ceiling. I have always been dedicated with my work. I know my priorities. However, I have never felt the urge to ditch a schedule just to be with someone and Jen has made me think that.

Calling her before flying wasn't a good idea. Just merely hearing her voice makes me wanna fly to wherever she was. I miss her already. Her smiles and her scent. So sweet, so pure.

I heaved a sigh. What am I thinking? We'll only be together for a few months. I need to get a grip. With that I decided to look at the concept paper for the shoot.

"Creative Director: Krystal Jung."

What? I must be hallucinating. I immediately called Manager Hyung.

"Jongin ~ ah? "

"Hyung, you never told me that Krystal would be the creative director for this?"

"I did, after your shoot last time. You weren't paying attention?"

"You did? How come I can't remember?"

"We'll, I ask you if you're going to do it then you just nodded your head and said you would go see Jennie "

I just released a groan. Stupid Jongin!

"Arasseo, Hyung. Sorry." I said and then ended the call.

I released a sigh. What am I going to do? How should I act? I don't want to look like a fool again.

I should tell Jen. But, how? I'm in big trouble.

*Next day*

Surprise is not the word to describe myself right now. I thought I would be looking at her, staring at her or be following her steps wherever she goes but no.

I'm so focused on finishing the shoot that I didn't even noticed that she arrived. Instead, all I can think is Jennie.

I miss her. I know I may sound clingy but I really do miss her. That feeling where you haven't know each other for so long yet you feel so familiar? You're just comfortable with one another.

"You're on fire today, Kai. We're finishing earlier than usual. What's with you?" Manager Hyung asked teasing me.

"I wanna go home early, Hyung. Also, I'm just doing my job." I replied.

"Or is it because you're missing someone from home."

"Aye, Hyung. You know me too well.
Of course that too."

"I've never seen you like this Jongin. This is pretty serious." Manager Hyung said. When he's using my real name, you know he's being serious.

"I know, I'm shocked myself too."

"I hope you make it right this time. I've seen you suffer enough. It's time for you to be happy. " He added.

SKIP

"That's good."

"More lights on the left, please."

"You're doing great!"

"Last one! Thank you!"

"That's the end everyone good job." Words that the photographer has said.

"Thank you so much for all your hard work." I said.

"As expected from the gods of photoshoot. Job well done, Kai. You may rest now."

"Ey, you're praising me too much Hyung" I replied jokingly.

"Just saying the truth, wish I was handsome as you." He added

"Stop lying, Hyung. You're -- " I didn't get to finish my sentence as Manager Hyung called me. Krystal needs to talk to me. She has been with us for the whole shoot. Being the director, she wants to make sure everything is perfect . I just nodded and went to the designated office.

"You called for me?" I asked her directly.

"Yes, I just wanna say thank you for all your efforts and for doing the shoot. It means a lot." she said sincerely.

"No problem, I enjoyed it alot." I replied.

"I'm gonna be honest, when the board chose you I was hesitant to send the offer. I wasn't confident that you'll agree. But, here you are." she's now looking at me with that cold stare.

"I know this day would come, I can't avoid you forever. We live in the same industry. " I didn't have the heart to tell her that I wasn't actually listening when this was introduced. But, it's true that I know we'd meet again, I just didn't expect it to be this soon.

"She must be so special then." I was shocked hearing that from her and even before I could think, I answered

"She is."

It was a moment of silence for us. No one dared to talk for a few seconds. I didn't know why, those words just came out of my mouth.

"Don't break her like you did to me." She said before going out. Not even waiting for me to reply.

I got my phone and dialed someone.

"Send me a plane in an hour, I'm going back to Korea now. " I didn't even wait for an answer. I came to my manager and told him that. He didn't ask questions but just looked at me.

"You had it bad, didn't you?" I just nodded as an answer.

I called Jen's number.

"Hello, Oppa?" I instantly smiled. Shit, I'm drowned.

"I'm going home."
