Y/N POV:

The next morning came around and they gave me a normal breakfast. Eggs and bacon. I really miss the sausage from the house though. I remember one of the last times we had sausage, Ray had to drag me out from under my bed and when I finally went to run downstairs, I ran into the door frame. I miss doing things like that. I miss my family. I miss Ray. That's why I'm determined to get out of this hell hole. I'll see him again no matter the cost. I'll even tell him about my feelings for him, but that's gonna be a while. The rat man soon came to get me and lead me to a small laboratory.

"So, can I at least know what you're trying to accomplish with this testing?" I asked, sitting down on a metal table with arm and leg restraints on it. "Well yes I suppose we can. First we'll need a blood sample and while that's happening I'll explain it. Now I'll have to ask you to lay down on that table before we begin." Rat man spoke and I was kinda curious on what this testing might be for so I did as I was told. When I layed down some of the scientists came over and stopped me down to the table. Not long after I felt a small pain in my shoulder which I assume was a needle for my blood sample.

"Now let me explain what we're trying to do here" the rat man started to explain and I stayed quiet. "We are trying to mutate your blood to say the very least. We are going to be mixing your blood with of humans blood as well as, what you would call a demons blood, before injecting it back into your system. What we're trying to accomplish though is a better immune system from the human blood and a better taste from the demon blood. Does this make sense to you?" The rat man finished and I layed there with wide eyes. They were going to mess with my blood. I'm so glad that Marko isn't here. I glad she doesn't have to go through what I'm about to. "So, you're basically trying to turn me into some type of super human that taste's really good to demons?" I questioned and rat man just nodded. "You know, that would have been so much cooler if you weren't gonna try to breed me if I live through this." I said, looking him in the eye.

1 WEEK LATER

The people have continued to test on me but they aren't seeing any results. Well, let me say that there are definitely results. I'm just smart enough to hide it from them. I've been feeling a lot healthier lately and sometimes things happen that I can't explain. I know that whatever they did to me has turned me into like some sort of super human. I'm a lot stronger than I was before. But the weirdest thing that's been happening is something a lot different. It seems almost like I can control what people do or maybe just their bodies. It sounds weird but it's happened plenty of times before. One time when I was strapped down in the lab one of the scientists was trying to put some weird drug into me. Of course the rat man wasn't there at the time and this guy was doing this without orders.

Anyways, like I said I was a lot stronger than before so I had broken one of the restraints on my hands and flicked my wrist at the guy. I couldn't tell you why I had done that but it worked because when I did so the man's neck snapped right then and there. If someone was to ask me how I did it, I wouldn't be able to tell them. All of the scientists and the rat man had asked me how it happened but I didn't say a word. All I know is that this happened two days ago. While I was thinking about all of this the rat man burst into my room. "You have five minutes until the next test." He spoke this quite quickly and suspiciously. I knew something wasn't right so the second he left I grabbed all of my belongings and tried to think of a way to take them with me. I knew I couldn't take my parasol so I just left it. I shoved Ray's pocket watch into the white sweater that they had given me. I grabbed little bunny and figured I would just say that I wanted some company during testing today.

It had just dawned on me that I had my necklace on. The necklace that Ray had given to me for my birthday. Oh, right, my birthday is today. I'm finally twelve. When the rat man came back to get me he had three demons with him. "We have, a slight change of plans, subject 12 16" rat man said this and I cringed at what he called me. They had branded those numbers onto the side of my stomach and that's what they all called me. I tried to tell them my real name but they didn't listen. "Well what's the change then rat man?" I asked saltily "you are a failed experiment, how you're still alive with all the pain inflicting drugs we put into you is unknown but we're done with you." He spoke very harshly to me and I think he was about to continue until I cut him off.

"So, are you going to kill me then?" I asked him with a bored tone. Of course I would kill them all before I let them kill me but I'll just wait to see what he has to say. "Actually, we're sending you to a different facility. So if you need anything grab it and follow us." He spoke in a calm voice. Since he said I could take what I wanted with me, I grabbed my parasol as well as little bunny and Lilly's old sketch book. "Hey, do you think I could have a book bag please?" I asked rat man with pleading eyes. He told me that there was one in the third drawer of the dresser and I grabbed it. It was just a plain white bag and I shoved little bunny, the sketch book, and the parasol all into it. The rat man motioned for me to follow him and I did.

He lead me outside and told me to get in the back of a truck that looked a lot like to one I had come here in but instead of a wooden back it was metal with metal doors on the back. I climbed in and there was another person in there. It was a large boy. I sat down beside him and tried to make conversation. "Hey, my name is Y/n, how about you?" I smiled at him. Smiling, that was something I hadn't done in a while and I liked it. The boy looked at me with wide eyes. He looked a lot more muscular than a normal kid should be. "Can you tell me you name?" I asked him gently with a soft smile. "A-Ace" The boy spoke cautiously but the fact that he answered me was enough to say that he trusted me, even just slightly. "Can you tell me how old you are Ace? I'm twelve if you want to know." Again I spoke slowly, so that I didn't scare him. He nodded and said "15, I'm 15" I gave him a huge grin. I couldn't help it, I was happy that he was opening up to me. He looked at me and smiled ever so slightly at me as well.

However this was short lived as the truck door was slammed shut and something started to fill the truck. I looked at the corners of the ceiling and what looked like gas was coming out of tanks. Soon I heard a thud and Ace had fallen on his side, asleep. I started to get drowsy before I dropped to the ground and blacked out.
