I saw Rory and Benny on a bench and Ethan in a wrestling onesie. I came up behind the two.
"Why am I seeing more of Ethan than I should?" I asked.
"Because he's on the wrestling team." Rory says.
"Oh thank you Rory that really clears things up." I smiled fakely at him.
"He decided he's gonna win the trophy and get rid of the ghost." Benny tells me.
"Against Kurt? He's gonna become a ghost." I wavered.
"Im sure he'll thank you for the confidence." Benny grinned then dropped his smile. "Just sit." I took my seat between the two of them when Coach started speaking.
"In the spirit of non-competition, I pledge to be a non-partisan referee for tonights match, so, uh... well, may every man win, or, uh... at least survive." Coach starts. "Representing Conway Collegiate, we have Kurt "The Hurt" Lochner."
"Yeah! Conway! Woo!" Kurt shouts.
"Ok, all right, and representing Whitechapel High-" Coach was cut off by Benny standing up.
"Wait." Benny takes a piece of paper out of his pocket. "From a land of fear and nightmares comes a warrior born to destroy. He speaks only violence.
He knows only hatred. His headlock is a crime against humanity! Behold... the Ethanator!!"
"Is that the worst you guys could come up with?" I turned to Rory. He just shrugged.
"Ok, guys, if we can get you to shake hands here, that'd be nice." Coach asks.
"Do your catchphrase! Do it!" Benny says.
"Prepare to be Ethanized!" Ethan glared at Kurt.
"I was wrong. I was so wrong." I put my head in my hands.
After Ethan getting his butt handed to him, and me hiding in Rorys chest after every time he was hit, the first round was over and Sarah came over to us.
"Sorry, dude, but for a guy in agony, you make some hilarious faces." Rory laughed.
"Oh my gosh Ethan what were you thinking?! You couldn't have picked tennis or something?" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, are you insane? You don't know what you're up against. This guy is unstoppable." Sarah spoke.
"I guess thats why you like him so much." Ethan slumped.
"What? I don't like him." Sarah looks taken aback.
"Come on. I saw you watching him, talking, laughing, canoodling." Ethan lists off.
"Mad canoodling." Benny agrees.
"Noodle what?" Rory asks.
"Nothing Ror." I shook my head.
"Look, I thought Erica turned him into a vampire, so I was watching him. Thats why I dragged Lex yesterday. I even checked his neck for bit marks- which was hard since he's so ticklish- but I do not like him." Sarah shut down.
"Ok, now that thats over with. You can't win by points anymore. You're gonna have to pin him to win." Benny explains.
"I have to pin him? Impossible." Ethan groaned.
"How about some magic?" Benny asks.
"Yeah can I help?" I smiled. Ethan turns his head to the empty space where Coach is.
"No magic. We can't cheat." Ethan sighed.
"Then think of something. Everybody has a weakness, right? Just find it and exploit it." Benny tells him. Then the second round started.
"Just please stop. Leave me alone." Ethan cried out.
"Looks like he's practicing new ways to beg for mercy. Smart!" Rory says trying to lighten the mood.
"Ugh." I facepalmed.
"Its no use. I can't win. I've never won a fight. Ever." Ethan mumbled.
"False. Remember that time in grade 2 when I took your Pokemon lunchbox? You whipped me good. I almost cried." Benny says.
"It's true. That was hilarious." I laughed.
"Grade 2... that gives me an idea. Thanks, Benny." Ethan walks back into the circle as the third and final round begins. While Kurt was baiting Ethan, Ethan goes behind him and wraps his arm around Kurts torso.
"Let go of me. Dude, are you... are you hugging me?" Kurt asks.
"Im wrestling old school. Oakwood Elementary, to be exact!" Ethan smiles.
"The snuggy bear hug! He's got it locked on. There's no escape." Benny gets ready to stand.
"Hugging is not cool. Let go!" Kurt complained.
"Fine. It's time to go for the jugular. And somebody told be you were ticklish." Ethan brings Kurt to the floor than starts tickling him.
"Stop tickling me! Stop! Stop! I really can't break your hugs." Kurt laughs uncontrollably.
"He who laughs last, loses." Ethan says.
"Our new... champion!" Coach grabs Ethans arm and raises it in the air.
"Yes!" We all jumped in the air. Rory pulled me in for a hug and lifted me in a spin. Ethan walks over with his trophy.
"Congrats Eth!" I smiled at him.
"Thank you." He then turns around as to speak to Coach Ed. "I won the trophy. Time to move on, Coach. A deal's a deal." Ethan smirked. But then his face contorts to anger. "He's backing out of our deal."
"What?" I gasp.
"He can't. A supernatural pact is binding in all dimensions!" Benny responds. Suddenly Coach Ed was able to be seen. Rory put me behind him.
"I ain't goin' anywhere. And you nerds can't make me." He yelled. Just then a huge bang was heard and a weird locker in the middle of the gym was seen. "Oh crud... but maybe those nerds can."
"What? What is it?" Ethan questioned.
"Ive crossed a lot of nerd souls in my day. And I suppose those souls had to go somewhere. Well, behold." He points to the locker behind him. "The Locker of the Damned." Suddenly the locker door slammed open. "Hey, you know what? I will not be beaten by a geek!" Blue whisps started to grab Coach Ed.
"Update. You got beaten by a geek and a girl!" I stepped up. I kicked Coach and that sent him flying into the locker.
"Thanks, but I could have taken him." Ethan thanked.
"Yeah but pulling my hair and tripping me? No no, he had to go." I dusted off my hands.
"Nice kick." Benny compliments.
"Thanks and now that I know how to do that... watch out." I sassed then walked away.
"Again Rory!" Ethan shouted.
"Oh my-" Benny started.
"There's no one here just let him." Sarah laughed.
